Imagine how slow he would have done if it was a weight scale to his size and strength as a strongman. You can’t compare powerlifters and cross fitters with strongman in terms of strength. He did super fast reps because it’s literally like picking up a broomstick to him.

@@kylereese458 this exercise was in his ballpark though. It's all about time under tension and this was under 51 seconds so not really in the realm of endurance. That's obviously why they asked him to do this specific workout because it wouldn't be cool to watch Eddie do some crappy 100+ rep workout that lasts 10minutes and he would get gassed. Eddie is just so immensely strong that he can do that in 51 seconds where us mortals would need a couple of minutes. Really cool to see the comradery and mutual respect in strength sports in this video.

@Bill of Rights you aware that just taking steroids won't turn you into a beast. It also takes hard work and genetics. I could take loads of steroids and train hard but wouldn't be anywhere near as I'm still missing the genetics. And dude, most elite level athletes are on steroids.

@@mclovin6039 90% of elite athletes are, and the natural ones can only stay like that for a while, the ones who abuse steroids to stay perfect die at young age or get permanent side effects, so go natural, its big enough scientifically and girls are fine with 6pack and biceps already

@John Arch 1. he is a strongman not a powerlifter 2. everything is easy for a lot of reps when its light enough ...60kg for him is like a broom-stick for normal people 3. "literally sucking air" thats called working out and getting out of breath that isnt a sign of close heart failure 4. strongmen and eddie especially actually trains for high reps quite a lot

The thing is that he just did a benchmark workout of crossfit, that's not competing in crossfit because grace, isabel, fran, or any other benchmarks of crossfit are not a competition itself, its just one workout. Its like if he was going to break the world record of the decathlon in the shot put. He'd probably beat it, but that doesnt mean he is competing in Decathlon or he is the best athlete in that sport.

Yeah but that's just some bodymass and strength shit. Set him up with some weights that are ratio-ed to his bodyweight and watching him fall apart. No chance of Eddie ever doing 100 pull ups. It's like 285 wrestler bragging about beating a 106 wrestler.

@@shadominium6290 true but strength doesn't increased proportionately to weight. Highest deadlift is 501kg by 205 kg Halfthor. It's not even 2.5x bodyweight but a 3x bodyweight deadlifter of 100kg cannot reach 501 even if they increase a 100kg more muscle mass.

@@To0t he would have too get a 485lbs (220) snatch and a 582lbs (264) clean and jerk. Im not sure if he's pressed anything that heavy before, but in all honesty with practice and the strength this guy has he could probably muscle snatch that weight. give him some proper coaching and watch him break some records.

It's called cross fit cause it's a cross of a bunch of different training techniques and sports. This particular exercise close to eddies sport. Kinda like a pro cyclist taking out the world record split of the cycling leg in triathlon.

You have to put it into perspective. Eddie could probably sneeze that weight off the floor. Rich Froning and Matt Fraser, 2 of the top cross fitters in the world, are 85-90 kgs. Eddie is double that.

Thousands of reps of squats and deadlifts without using a belt. Eddie deliberately didn't use a belt to build his core strength to add a more stable platform for heavy overhead pressing. Hence his axle press world record. 216kg overhead with zero leg drive, just phenomenal!!

I don't think so, it is just too lightweight for a strongman of this calibre to need any special technique. But to complete such excersise with 1/2 of the bodyweight would rerquire some serious form.
