I am almost a purple belt, and Jiu-Jitsu is a very hard sport 💙 On any given day, you can (and will) catch the SMESH 🤣🤣 Big props for trying a new sport. 👏 🙌 I love Jiu-Jitsu. I started at 34, and I am now 38. It keeps me in good shape, and learning self defense.

The only problem is that it just works when you face one single bully. If he has his friends by his side, you're screwed. The same goes for judo, it works against single opponents in a competition, but if you are alone and there are multiple opponents, the other will kick and stomp you to death. You'll need one martial art for ranged combat, one for grappling, and one for multiple attackers. Since women tend to have stronger legs than the average men from an anatomical point of view, you should choose Muay Thai or Teakwondo for distance, Sambo, BJJ or Judo for throws and grappling, and a good martial art for multiple attackers is Aikijutsu (not Aikido). Train each of them for three to five years and you will be able to destroy almost everyone who gets in your way.

you must have trained grappling and been in many street fights yourself…..right?

@@dildobaggins8987 I'm still in training. I do Kickboxing and Aikido, cause in my area is no Aikijutsu class or something else available. Yeah I had some bad events in the past with multiple attackers and In all of those events I had a hard time to defend myself, which means I ended up to the ground and couldn't do anything to protect me. But in this time I didn't do any martial arts and did not participated in any self defence class. It was a different time. If I could defend myself now in the same situation again, maybe, but I don't know.

@@Afterthefallout55660 I would argue that anything without regular and near 100% free sparring is useless. If you are questioning whether you can defend yourself, I don’t think you should be suggesting that one martial art isn’t enough and to also suggest others. Then adding the possibility of more than one person, knives etc. it’s just adding layers of semantics that make self defense a marketing tool to be walked straight into a mcdojo. The best things to train all around is an MMA gym that has a stable of competing fighters. End of

@@dildobaggins8987 Let everyone train what they can and like. Alright, Jesus? Where is the problem? Would you like to hear from me: “Oh yes, I can defend myself in any situation?” In which world do you live in? Just because I perform a different martial arts for different situations you go crazy and call me a McDojos impostor? Syr, but if anything is marketing, it's the MMA and home defense hype from the USA that spills over into Europe and that almost every KZbin influencer promotes to earn their daily bread. These people do marketing. Not the men and women who train for their Dan or black belt for decades and don't brag about it publicly like some KZbinrs do. Martial arts are also about philosophies and personal development, not just about who I can punch best in the face and who could threaten me. This is paranonia. And should be treated by a psychiatrist and not influencers. I consciously say that I don't know whether I could defend myself with kickboxing and Aikido because I don't believe in miracle cures. If you want to discredit this by parroting Rokka's phrases "No martial art without sparring is useful," then I wonder who is doing the marketing here. I would rather believe in a martial art with over 1000 years of culture and history and masters who studied it for thier life than some KZbin hipsters from the USA.

@@Afterthefallout55660 Would you say that you can beat off multiple men at once? Like, if several men approached you, wanting to attack, you would just beat them all off?

i always reasoned that if anyone tries that on me my fingers are knuckle deep in their eyes or balls crushed ...but theres rules in competitive fighting for a reason eh like he said knives keys bottles anything can be used against you in a fight for real and then theres other people waiting to kick your head or stamp on you a girlfriend trying to rake your eyes out wile your fighting smash you with a heel or a bottle , best to avoid places or situations that this can happen and assume everyone is armed because the kind of people who start shit are usually stupid and drunk ...or are armed and intend to rellay fck someone up or kill em .
