Struck by LIGHTNING TROUT at Collins Lake

Collins Lake revisited. This time I am teaming up with Mr. Warren Frederickson and my daughter to chase after lightning trout. Lightning didn't strike the last time, but that does not stop us from trying again. It is after all, fishing. I brought a couple of homemade gear this time. And we were blessed. Yes it is! From shore or from a boat will both produce. This lake is heavily stocked!!! There is a parking fee which I do not know the cost. It cost $20 total for parking & launching & fishing for all of us. Hope that helps. I appreciate your comment. Have a great day! 👍🙏🎣JU Hammah⚒

Thanks for the video. Congratulations to your daughter for landing those beautiful fish. I had heard they stocked lightning trout in Collins, but this is the first I have seen. I was there in late Oct and fished from shore but got skunked it was still to warm.

Now is a great time. We saw people catching from shore as well. Also, four out of the five were caught trolling near the shore on the opposite side of the ramp. Thank you for your visit. 👍🙏🎣JU Hammah⚒

Hey JU! So sweet you had a chance to chase those Lightning Trout! So how do they look in person? Man they're so eye catching. At times can see them just swimming by near the surface! Cool to see you brought out your friend Warren again and your daughter! Fair amount of bites in the video, and man some NICE fish caught! At least one chunk'er Rainbow & Lightning! Lol those mini Spoon lures worked nicely! Enjoyed the video!

@@JUNationFishing Omg that sounds sooo good. Though we haven't had them smoked yet (good move!) we have ate many of those Trout. The stocked Mt Lassen Trout and Lightning. The meat has a nice strong flavor to it! Super good eating for fish!

What speed you trolling? And how far behind the boat for the lure thx ju

I don’t have a counter on my three rods, so the night crawlers rod with the stinger hook was way back ~ 150’ with a no. 5 split shot three feet up. The second back rod with the plug was at 55 pulls or approximately 110’ flat line. Finally, the side rod with my three small connected plugs was at 50 pulls or approximately 100’ back flat line. I love collins lake. Trout bite anything there but 1/4oz speedy shiners 10-25 ft down @3mph work the best for me. What iv noticed is that theres huge bait balls of shiners that swim around. If u find the schooling shiners u will find the trophy fish chasing them.

OMG!!!!!! Brother what an awesome video. JU nation is absolutely amazing, but you took trout fishing to the next level! I love that you have JU Nation family as well as personal family in your videos. I believe this is my favorite father daughter video to date! I can’t believe how many take downs you all had!
