For the first question weight given is 25kN/m. So total weight is calculated for 8m span beam by multiplying 25*8 KN. But in the answer, while calculating factored load only 25 KN is taken. For total weight 25 should be multiplied with the span?

Surely.. But we know that the beam should need tension reinforcement. So we have to modify the ( l/d) ratio with some factors.( Rfr: Cl.23.2.1, IS 456:2000). Hence we choose a modified value instead of 20 (for Simply supported) in terms of ' Practical point of view'.

1. Questionil factored load aane thannitullath. Athu kondane again factorise cheyyathath. 2. Inclusive of self weight ennu thannitilla.. You should add selfweight.. OR assume that given UDL is its selfweight. Hence there is no need to add selfweight seperately. Valare cheriya question aayathu kondane deep aayi pokathirunnath.. Thanks for watching..
