Structural Steel Connections in Revit 2017 and Advance Steel 2017

I have 2015 Revit, after i saw this video I installed the 2017 Revit to do like those steel frames. but, the steel connection dialog box is empty.there're no connection styles to connect beam & columns, please give me an answer.

Just some thoughts ... maybe you didn't select the beams (to be connected together) in the right order, maybe the connection that you try to insert is not suitable for your specific situation (which steel connection are you trying to insert?)

how do you get the blue color for steel framing and orange for connections? in some videos you have the red color for steel framing too. I am new in revit, please let me know...

There are several methods to get Revit objects being colorized, but here is what I did for this video.If you go to the "Visibility/Graphics" dialog (icon available in View ribbon, but you can also quickly type VV), go to Filters tab, then you can "Add" a new filter (e.g. Structural connections) and assign it a specific color (e.g. Orange) and pattern (e.g. Solid fill).Hope that helps!

Hello, how do you put dimension on the steel connection. Because I can't put dimension form the plate edge to the center of the bolt.

Maybe you should change the Visual style (from Hidden Line) to Wireframe before creating the dimension, let us know if it solves the issue.

Change the "Detail Level" to "Fine". And select all components (Anchors, Bolts, Plates, etc) in the "Structural Connections" branch within the Visibility and Graphics dialog-box (VV shortcut).

You should go to Control Panel > Program and Features. Then select Autodesk Revit Content Libraries 2018, and press Uninstall/Change button. Choose Add or Remove Features, and then select the content library/libraries you would like to install, and press Next.

If you are a Revit 2017 user, are you using Certified families for the structural framing & structural columns? FYI - one of the new features in Revit 2018 is the ability to apply steel connections on certified families and also on custom families, which is great!

Steel connections are only available for Revit 2017 (since April 2016) and Revit 2018 (since mid-April 2017).

Most of the steel connections can be checked against AISC or EC3, but a few of them can be checked only against AISC (e.g. through plate) or EC3 (e.g. knee of frame bolted with haunch).

If you insert a base plate connection at the bottom of a column, it will shorten the column by the base plate thickness value, does it make sense?

I am having the same issue the only option i get is the generic connection. Not able to display any parameters or anything even through everything is loaded. If you have found a solution to this I would be interested to hear.
