Might be helpful to say that you should turn on the structural connections options in VG, or else you will not see any connections in 3D views.

2 years but this video is still relevant. If you are using Revit 2021, Structure and Steel Tab is hidden if you set your discipline into "Architecture" when opening up your Revit for the first time. You can show these tabs by going into File > Options > User Interface. Under "Tools and Analyses" check the tabs you want to show. Then hit OK.

Just FYI - The reason you had an error with the colum/beam connection on the portal frame structure was because the column needs to be rotated 90degrees (column parallel with the beam). The column should always be parallel to the beam so that it works within it's strongest axis.

Hey firstly great tutorial on show how Revit connection works, thank you for showing how it works before I head out and purchase it for myself. Secondly, as a structural engineer, it was really funny seeing you place unless connections beams and columns. When you did your beam system, it appeared to place a beam on the external sketch line. My beam system never places one on the edge. What do I need to have set for this to happen?
