Gable end VENTS, gable end and roof dormer WINDOWS and they felt it was necessary to take the risk of going on the roof and damaging it with unneeded VENT holes?

Yeah same. I was already in Raleigh about to head to a concert. Saw that notification and started that way, and it turned out to be a working fire

You got 4 engines 2 ladders seems like 2 chiefs a safety officer and and a rescue unit what kind of alarm was that ?

The initial tone out was the typical first alarm box for Raleigh. They ended up adding an additional 2 more Engines and an Air unit, and the Division Chief came out. Full list of units is in the description. Some units were parked on the next block as well as across the trees behind the house, as the fire was in the back and they could access it from back there.
