angelo08pr, you are absolutely correct. If you look at part 2 for this video, you'll notice that I corrected it. Nonetheless, thank you for the comment and let me know if there is anything else I can post that's of interest.

why is the linerally distributed force 'w' like a triangle. great video but i dont understand that particular logic. does it have to do with the area underneath the curve?

Your delta equation is missing the x^2 that is multiplied by the 3/4. Just a heads up so you can add a note next to that. :)

Isn't the linearly increasing force is increasing on each side of the beem? Shall we don't multiply it by 1/2 if we considering 2D only. Or if it is 3D we should multiply it by 2, or if it is cylindir we have to multiply it by pi*r^2?

not the proper way to start Axial deformation straight after the basic understanding video :(

Isn't the so-called friction force due to soil acting on all 4 sides of the cuboid beam? So wouldn't the force due to it be 4*(1/2*2*3)??? Just askin'

that delta equation you're using, is it an equation for elongation? is it just like the equation delta = PL/EA ?

@structurefree Can you do a Statically Indeterminate problem using the method of superposition? Maybe you have one already, but I can't find it.

Could u please explain that how would take the w force in sigma F verticle force cause the direction of w force is horizontal ie lateral.

Awesome Video! your videos are by far the best I have found for mechanics of materials, thank you! BTW, I got -0.001026mm for the deformation, can anyone confirm?
