As someone who is struggling with severe PTSD from 2 combat deployments in Iraq, this just hits different. Can't help but let these tears fly.... Losing absolutely everything including a beautiful wife and daughter. Edit: 2 years or so later, I am in a better place mentally. Still have my struggles, but I’ve been getting treatment for PTSD and have been on medication for a while now. Not exactly my ideal life, but I’m plugging along everyday in the right direction. It certainly beats the alternative… I wanted to thank everyone that commented or reached out. I know it’s just the internet, but kindness and empathy go a long way. Thank you so much for your service. My best friend's husband was in the National Guard and was deployed in 2003 and didn't come home for good, until 2006. I can't imagine what you guys go through. I felt like a military wife lol... The care packages full of his favorite snacks, not knowing if he was alive for days at a time, and of course the crappy boot legged DVDs he mailed us, from a kid he became attached to. That kid probably got rich off of him. 😆 He was definitely affected by what he saw over there. He still doesn't talk about it. When we are in public he is always on high alert. Most people run from gunshots, and explosions. You guys run toward it. I believe it takes a courageous and honorable person to fight for our country. I can't wrap my head around American's that disrespect anyone who risk their lives so that we can tuck our children in bed safely every night. My Dad was a Marine and for 58 years every year he would spend New Year's with his " brothers" I would look at him while they spoke and think, wow these guys are real life hero's. I believe that our soldier's should be treated better. It infuriates me to see NFL player's and entertainer's making million's. However, the men and women that leave their families to go fight for our freedom, and our safety get treated so badly when they get home. I'm so sorry about your wife and daughter. I know that you can't replace people but I pray that you will find someone who adores you, that is patient with you, and understanding of PTSD. My priority needs are safe, housing not ever a group home and no need of rehab unless for a total obsession I freely admit to such as a lack of shopping for all things such as food, clothing, shoes, undies, Bess, furniture etc. Lack of ANY downtime yo recoup, relax and begin to feel human again so a quick trip would be a true God sent blessing. A phone would be priceless in too many ways to adequately and acuratelt describe. Being out of contact with my children my brothers, my spiritual support even real friends and the limited Family ties that I actually have. Some friends are closer, safer and healthier than any and all toxic blood ties such as I have with Karen, Alexis, Marcus, Becky duh. They've been thankful replaced by Mary, Kaz, Robbie, Able, Mark and even an Ozzy. Lol. Thank you Father God from your daughter, Mimi. Smh

Same an when I fought through all that childhood BS I thought I was free an be damn I got hit with 2 autoimmune diseases. Lost 28lbs in just 2 months, kept going all the way down to 107lbs of nothin but muscle. Took me a year to put on weight with no help from anyone once again by doing an extreme natural diet. Another 7 months I'm now back even better than I was. Conquered all that an depression with crippling anxiety on top of it. No one can keep you down but yourself. Get your mind right an everything else will follow. Didn't get there in a day an we want heal in a day. Everything takes time! It all stops when we stop, so never stop!

Yes I struggle with mental illness anxiety depression bipolar number two I've had panic attacks in my past thank God I haven't since I've been quite some years younger now I don't wish that upon anybody this whole world because I'm human and you know what we were born some of us with the mental illness sometimes it's drug induced and you know what you can also get it just by being around people that have it and you know what sometimes with the mental illness I realized when I was talking to my therapist.. well there isn't always bad in it there's also good that comes out of it with your personality too and really you know I know it's so hard to get through it especially alone and all I really want is for somebody to accept us for who We are regardless if it's too much for them to go through if you really love somebody you'll go through the struggles and the pain through the mental illness and everything that's you know human about us how would it feel to be not feeling nothing at all though think about that sometimes I'm not so sad that I have. A lot of it makes me who I am I just wish I could react to deal with situations better I need to learn to love myself better like I used to I just hope you guys all know that that are going through it that I really believe you got to look through all the good things with everything that's bad and you'll make it no matter what!
