struggles with a squarebody - K5 Blazer Offroad Build gets axle fix and paint prep

In this video I get the K5 ready for a cheap paint job by swapping the cut up front fenders for some replacements in slightly better condition. This leads to several broken bolts and hours of extra work lol. We also track down the issue with our front axle, fix the 4-wheel drive and install Mile Marker Premium manual locking hubs. Lots of struggles working on this big ol beast but we are making progress and this build is going to be really nice when we get done and the budget so far has stayed very reasonable.

Check the area around the steering gear box. The frame likes to Crack in that area.

Looking good. I did linex on the bottom half of my blazer. You might be able to see it in my profile pic. Turned out really. Just a thought in case you go off road in yours it'll help save your rig.

Coming along nice. I went with the Warn lockouts on my daughters K20. Picked them up at the local parts store and came with a lifetime warranty. Need to pick up a set for my Blazer but trying to figure out if I want to go with a different brand or stick with Warn. Keep up the good work. 👍

Almost forgot to ask. Do you think those 37’s are going to eat the fenders on a bind? Looks kind of close. Speaking from owning a few old Chevy trail rigs those 37’s will push the limits on those 1/2 ton axles. Could always upgrade to after market axle’s or jump to 1 ton axles. Just depends on your plans with it I guess.

Great video! & I'd rather have that size spring hit in me in the chest anyday (better than a heavy duty pickup suspension spring knocking the wind outta ya)! For the tire size recommendation: i'd keep the 37s unless they're rubbing bad on ur new fenders LOL Also, are you planning on achieving any other goals (i.e. mpg, less road noise, fitting into height-restricted parking garages, etc.)? If not, keep the 37s
