James and Caleigh .. I am a 73 Years Young Black Woman who lives in New Jersey which is definitely not a country state.. however I’ve been a lover of country music since the 70’s.. I am an Ol’ schooler😂😂😂 but MUSIC IS UNIVERSAL.. and it is sad how people are putting labels on a race of people because they listen to a specific type of music that they feel is not theirs to own.. your podcasts are sooo good and you’re such a sweet couple.. you are going to make great parents.. keep doin you.. I watch you all the time on KZbin, TikTok..BLESSINGS ❤❤❤

It really is sad & I'm glad I was able to see that music is univeral as I got older cause it definitely wasn't like that for me (CaLeigha) growing up! Thank you so much for you're support, it doesn't go unnoticed & we truly appreciate it! 🥹❤️❤️

Despite being told all my life what kind of music I should like, I have come to appreciate a variety of genres such as Billy Idol, Santana, RB, Hip Hop, and country music. I understand the issue of music and race and firmly believe that everyone should have the freedom to enjoy and explore different types of music without being judged or discriminated against. After all, music has the power to bring people together and create a sense of unity and harmony. What I have noticed is that some people act like they have a perfect life and not showing their real life. Over time I have changed the type of KZbinr that I watch now. Just keep being your authentic selves that is one of the reasons why I enjoy watching you and James😄♥🙏

My thing is as long as someone isn’t exploiting a genre of music that is particularly cultural by “exploring” it due to the monetary value, then it’s appropriate to do what you feel. Unfortunately, many people, particularly those of color, are discriminated against for exploring different genres of music that do not pigeonhole them or stereotype them.

😂I’m a city girl and experienced military life. That says a lot. You’re introduced to some of everything. I LOVE country music 👍🏾👌🏾💖💯! All types of music except for rap and heavy metal music. It’s the geo area that you grow up in and what you’re exposed to in adolescence mostly.

You’re both so right, you’re going to be great parents ! No I agree with you never put your children out there on social media, it’s personal not for public view , and as far as country music is concerned it’s for everyone, I enjoyed your podcast . Thanks have a great day James and CaLeigha ❤❤

Father. Have. Mercy. 😬 Regarding Beyonce's incredible *Cowboy Carter* album.... The album is meant to serve as a musical education of the African Americans historic place w/in Country music, which would sound like Irish Folk (great in It's own right, mind you) if it weren't for the Blues & Gospel of the enslaved Africans. This includes the BANJO, which was created by enslaved Africans in the Caribbean then, later brought to The States. Yes, the banjo wasn't created by the Appalachians but by Africans. I could also go into the Black artists that many of the earlier big name white country artists learned from then portrayed as their style.... as it was with Elvis and Black artists like Roy Hamilton, Big Mama Thornton, Chuck Berry and Sister Rosetta Tharpe - The Godmother of Rock & Roll, but it would take awhile. ;) Beyonce adds a bit of those artists work into this album as well. Her last few projects have been a meld of grand musical production, a mosaic of Black History and how the two interconnect. It appears that Beyonce is in a period of the Reclamation and Rejoicing of African American Culture, trying to correct the record due to the erasure and gate keeping whilst also trying to push The Culture forward in Unity, Knowledge and Beautiful Experiences and Conversations. 😎 It's what she's become known for. The Superficial and surface level won't fully appreciate this album over the more curious and expansive minded.

Ok. You guys had me until the disdain in your voice about Queen Bey…..For one thing the history of Country music and its founders. The treatment of Beyoncé at the CMA SHOW. If you can call Keith Urban a country singer from Australia, the disrespect white folks have when it comes to black folks and stuff they ( Blacks) have created is mind blowing 🤯. Hip Hop ,Rock &Roll,Pop,R&B,Jazz,Blues, and yes the old Slave music what we now call country music. If Black people decided that no one should even explore our creation of music….. because of where you grew up at or the color of our skin…. Then we would be the only race of people on earth enjoying good music. Even the greatest composer to have lived Beethoven is question to have had a moorish bloodline in his DNA. So please don’t go there with Beyonce. She made history and open doors for other black artists to be seen in country music. PUT some respect on her name. Yes I’m very passionate about music and Queen Bee 🐝

I feel the same honestly. She was discriminated against horrendously and treated unfairly after she put on an incredible performance that had everyone on their feet in that stadium of her COUNTRY song Daddy Lessons. All the racist conservative yts hounded the CMA’s to take the performance off their social media and upon blowback for submitting to the racists, they uploaded it again. That along with the amount of negative messages online calling her “not country” even though the woman is from TEXAS. They just took issue w her because she was Black and proud. I don’t know what these 2 were on when they got to Beyonce either. Questionable to say the least. The amount of doors she opened for Black people in country who’ve been at it LONGER than her in the genre is an incredible feat, all done by her own courage to make the choice to risk making a country album that would flop and not be liked especially when that’s what those racially biased ppl would want, and it ended up being critically acclaimed. Don’t know what else she gotta do to show she is a QUEEN in her own profession. She’s a storyteller and a powerhouse. She made a great example in rebelling against the bullying and ignorance and doing what her heart told her, and it ended up rewarding her!

Oh nah. Why the shade against Beyonce? I don’t wanna side eye but…. Something one should do is acknowledge her determination and talent whether they like her music or not. How many barriers has that woman broken and how many times has she proven herself musically - album after album? Vocal after vocal? Visual after visual? She was discriminated against horrendously on social media and treated unfairly after she put on an incredible performance that had everyone on their feet in that stadium of her COUNTRY song Daddy Lessons at the CMAs. All the racist conservative whites hounded the CMA’s to take the performance off their social media and upon blowback for submitting to the racists, they uploaded it again. That along with the amount of racist and negative messages online calling her “not country” even though the woman is from fking TEXAS. What makes her less country than Keith Curban who is from AUSTRALIA?? They just took issue w her because she was Black and proud. Idk what yall on lol 🤷🏽♀️ Questionable to say the least. The amount of doors she’s opened for Black people in country who’ve been at it LONGER than her in that genre is an incredible feat, all done by her own courage to make the choice to risk making a country album that would flop and not be liked especially when that’s what those racially biased ppl would want, and it ended up being critically acclaimed. Hello to you both, I love following your channel and I have been learning a lot from your relationship.☺️ I suggest two books that helped me a lot to manage my time better and to understand which are the most important areas that I should focus on that were really important to me. The second talks about the real life of an entrepreneur, from the good parts to the challenges that no one talks about when working on their own and everything depends on us. I'm sure it will give the answers that Caleigha is looking for 😃. The books are: "The E Myth Revisited “ by Michael E. Gerber “Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less.” By Greg McKeown Hugs from Portugal 🇵🇹 ❤

I feel as though you both are incredibly naive. Now that’s an opinionated statement but it also is an observant one. Your statements are laced with a great deal of inexperience. You speak truth but ONLY what you’ve allowed your exposure to permit. The world is much larger than the width of your view.❤
