Mandalay is the Heat of Burma, located in the chest if you look the country as a human shape, located on the bank of Burma's live blood, Ayeyarwady river, city of art, city of passion, the last Dynasty's Capital, silver lining city under the hill and once known for the polite behavior of citizen(not anymore because of rural-urban migration) .

Hi Volli. What was the date you arrived to Mandalay? The show money rule is fairly new, and not uniformly enforced (its mainly directed at Chinese and Indian nationals as they've recently reintroduced tourist visa on arrival for those passport holders.) Hint for next time - have everything printed out, including your return flight booking. Paper still wins here mate!

Consequently, this officer is extorting USD from you that will contribute to the murderous Min Aung Hlaing regime, which, of course, will be used for the procurement of ammunition and weapons, potentially contributing to more tragic events in Myanmar as they strive to restore democracy and secure the release of Aung San Suu Kyi. Good luck because this is the worst time to be in Myanmar as a tourist. Perhaps you should have done your homework before going there.

I couldn't disagree more. I know there is conflict and economy is down but as a tourist I had the time of my life in Myanmar because it wasn't crowded. My experience was very peaceful and I feel like i got to experience the real culture and beauty of the country much more. I loved it so much!

I hold my breath when I saw you stuck with the immigration officers. Man, you should do your research more before going there. But I can guarantee you the people are really nice , they're smiling all the time and they'll be very happy to just talk to a foreigner. It's sad they're living through difficult situation. Just be careful not to mention anything politics. And avoid going head on with military officers because they have permission to shoot whoever they deemed suspicious. Scary place but beautiful people.

Hahaha it wasn't that bad. The people are the most humble and nice i think ive seen in the world so far to be honest. I'm not a big conflict guy so i never ran into any problems but the military did try to challenge me several time at checkpoints, i actually enjoyed that lol.

Uhh depends on the provider. Im using Wise international card mostly but that is completely banned. My Commonwealth Australian card worked though. BUT its not advisable to use the card there since the exchange rate is terrible like this. I will upload the next video on wednesday where i explain this a little. Make sure you watch that!

I recommend that you research thoroughly about what's happening in Myanmar, and watch news about what's going on... there is a revolutionary war happening in Myanmar... young men and women have joined the resistance forces and took up arms to fight the dictatorship tyranny, because peaceful protest didn't work... many men have given their lives in battle fighting this war... Ukraine is getting major support from the US and western countries, we also need supplies and support just like our Ukrainian brothers and sisters... the Myanmar civilian resistance force are freedom fighters just like the Ukrainians... I want you to enjoy your visit to Myanmar, but at the same time... please be careful... also, spread awareness of our civilian resistance forces... the Myanmar military junta has jets, artillery and heavy weapons... but, our freedom fighters only have rifles... we can't fight jet planes and artillery with rifles... we need more weapons and arsenal to increase our fighting chance... we need anti aircraft weapons like stingers and javelin that are capable of taking down the jets that have been bombing hospitals, churches, villages with innocent civilians... please spread awareness... it is the least you can do... thank you for your support... our resistance forces will fight on till the end

Normally U need to be able to show u have US $1000 in hard cash( not just bank balance) to enter Myanmar, just a regulation. The amount varies depending on the duration of ur visit. He was saying “ there’s a foreigner dude, with no show-money, and hotel booking is only in the phone, has only 50 bucks, with return ticket” , then I guess his boss gave a green light. Et voila , u r in ! And if u had time, do visit that palace, the historical drama in that palace is more bad ass than game of thrones. 😂

​@@KET1979 when I was at the airport.... I saw the guards at the airport were asking a foreigner why she brought a lot of foreign currency. (I think it was Thai Bahts) All of them were converted to Kyats with a bad exchange rate ofc. (The security even admits to tell her the exchange would not be good but it's airport policy) Policies were always changing here and mostly not for the best... Just be careful if you're visiting and wish you a great adventure here. Welcome to "North Korea" of South East Asia.

No, it's $1000 in general, regardless of how long the visit is. Airlines and immigration don't have time to set different rules depending on the intended length of stay, so they just enforce a US$1000 rule on all foreigners, regardless if you're staying 1 night or 28 days.
