Fabfilter and Neural DSP are a good match. I've seen people using Saturn 2 and Parallax with good results.

A Fender was used. Not a Dingwall. Dingwall is what Nolly uses.

Hi, is this mostly for distorted and metal like bass tones mostly? Is there a plugin (neural or otherwise) for funk, soul, jazzy kind of bass tones?

Do you have to get Neural DSP Parallax to get a good tone if you are just a composer wanting to program bass plugins? I read pickups play a factor in the sound but if I am only programming stuff, it might be irrelevant? Any help would be appreciated.

You can use a multi band split processing EQ situation, but Parallax has it all built in.

Dark glass emulates dark glass pedals. Parallax is some other processing, prob similar but dark glass distortion is special lol

You can definitely get similar tones but they function a little bit differently. The parallax has 3 adjustable bands with independent volume and distortion controls on the mids and highs.

No matter what I try my bass tone still sounds like total ass, I tried all presets and tones. I tried all settings videos shows and nothing fixed the problem. My bass tone just sounds crackling, not clear, and has zero sustain. Even with the gate off it sounds like there is one one and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here

Maybe it's the wiring of your bass? Or maybe your interface is messed up.

Have you checked gain levels on your interface? could be peaking / clipping issues

Might be your Audio interface, or the bass itself. My bass sounded rubbish on the parallax plugin. Got a new bass with active pickups today and it sounds incredible. Big difference!
