Struggling with grooves is now officially over. I've recently discovered a very powerful Max For Live Groovebox called "Instant Haus" which generates MIDI information specifically designed for Drum Racks. Haha! That was my first official device! Ableton bought it from me! This is the second version though, I still prefer my original as Ableton changed as few things in the patch and for some reason it doesn't feel exactly the same. (Their interface looks better than my original though)

Cool! Stick an LFO on the channel, map a random wave to whatever pattern/patterns you want to change and you can vary the groove as subtle or as dramatic as you like!

nice one! I've had this thing for awhile but never fully explored it, gotta dive in now. what's the intention with resampling the midi as audio instead of just working in midi? I'm sure you prob have a video explaining this further but couldn't find it at a glance.

Thanks mate. I like the warping functions Ableton Live offers for Audio. Also I love how printing to audio makes you commit to what you've created instead of getting stuck tweaking the MIDI over and over ;)

Noob question how do I hit play on the groove? Am not able to get it to midi output when I hit play on overall track

Hmm not sure mate. Make sure that you have MIDI outputting out of the Instant Haus Plugin and load samples into the right slots of the drum rack. All you need to do is hit play and it'll trigger those drum rack slots.

I use noise suppression in obs studio and make sure my monitors are not too loud while recording 😉

Nice, but looks so basic. not so many slots for putting extra percussion things, hats etc. Very basic. The idea of randomization is pretty cool. Does anyone know something more rebuild?

Dude, just get an MPC or Maschine, nothing beats creating your grooves in real time with your own hands (fingers).
