Stryker Boats - Tutorial - How To Fold Your Inflatable Boat

We're here with the 2018 Stryker Ranger LX 360. Today we're going to show you how to deflate and put your boat away for storage properly.
1. Remove all of your accessories and deflate the boat. Try to make sure to always screw the caps back on to protect your fabric in transport. Generally, you can leave all of your Scotty bases on the boat, and just remove the accessories.
2. Now, you're able to take out the floor of the boat. Pull from the side, grab the stringer, and give it a bit of a pull and a turn. The stringers should pop right out. Now, floor should come out easily.
3. For the bow and transom pieces, pull them toward each other about a foot, pull the fabric to the side, and pull each piece out. Now, you have all of the accessories out of the boat.
4. To get the boat folded as small as possible, get inside the boat (with relatively clean shoes), and pull up on the rails that surround the boat. You want about half of the Styker Shield to be visible.
5. You should fold the sides to create a V-shape at the bow and stern. Fold them over the over the transom and the bow respectively, and simply roll your boat together.
6. Place the boat on the Styker Boat Bed and wrap it up for storage. The Stryker Boat Bed will also double as a tarp for when you're setting up.

One thing I found when deflating is there comes a point where the exterior an internal pressure stabilize, and the boat will actually want to take on or inhale more air than it expels. I close the valves off at that point, and start to roll the boat. Whatever air is left will be forced towards the chamber ends, at which point you can then open the valves again as you roll the boat closer to those valves. Then close again. It helps if you have a 2nd person. I'm not sure at the factory if they actually create a vacuum or what, but that is my guess. I thought about taking a vacuum cleaner and making a fitting, but I've also read a small amount air can provide some cushioning to avoid permanent creases. I don't know. Thoughts? I can only imagine on really large boats how difficult this can all become. I have 16 inch tubes and it really requires some "Manhandling" to get the boat where you want it. I would certainly not want to do this on every trip. I leave mine inflated on the trailer most of the year. I also agree that it's good to check out your aluminum floor, as mine came a sharp edges as well. One wrong move and you can puncture the fabric. Manufacturers should really pay closer attention to this.

One small comment about the floor boards, the aluminum edges at the sides of the boards are very sharp and scrape against the unprotected parts of the fabric when you are installing and removing the floor boards, I'd suggest taking some sandpaper and smoothing these edges down.
