The info I had at the time showed the "5 hit combo" to be the longest, according to a post on stackexchange (gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/235548/what-is-the-most-effective-incapacitation). If you have a site that has some official stats then please mention it these comments. The CQC choke is second, but most sites I find, even today, are posts from 3 years ago. Im working on redoing this video, so I double-checked some of this info just now, but I didnt see anything that gave the actual base values. I may need to test on my own. thanks for the help, I will make sure I check myself for the updated video I make:)

If you unlock any gun with the tier 3 suppressor, you can fit it to every gun with the customization

ッRecxllectixn that’s partially correct For ANY suppressor, doesn’t matter the tier, you have to have a weapon of that type that has a suppressor already on it to put it in different weapons For example, once i unlock the weapon customization, since you already have a pistol suppressor because of your tranquilizer pistol you start with, I can attach a suppressor to any pistol Since you start off with a suppressor on your AR you start with, you can put a suppressor on any AR Same goes for the other weapons I may be wrong, but SMG and pistol suppressors can go both ways

You can even use it back at Mother Base. Each main platform has a parcel delivery point. That way you don't need to call the helo or use the 4x4 to get around.

All stuns & tranq time can be extended to indefinite by stashing body in a porta potty or dumpster. Make good use of them, that's why they're there. Stave off those invisible demon points.

Yeah apparently you have demon points that are totally separate from hero points that dictate how close you are to becoming demon snake. Once you become demon Snake (with the annoying blood you can't wash off) it becomes a pain in the ass to get rid of it.

@@randellorton4643 no, just don't bother building fob/online events and getting a shit ton of staff until after both virus sequences. Keep in mind the virus isn't always kikongo too, just common. Once you figure out what the language is, you can avoid most deaths by putting all who speak it into quarantine. But it's not fun going through 1000 staff when you got maxed mother base and built up FOB lol

Anyone watching this 3 years after it’s release, best tips I can give are never stun anyone but hold them up and tell them to lie down, it gives you fame and it guarantees they won’t get up unless someone finds them and to walk with your pistol aimed, not crouched nor prone. It makes you faster and for some reason enemies can’t hear you.

When you become seriously injured you’re also basically invincible you stay in slow motion for a long time and can still use your lethal weapon it’s like being in reflex mode but longer so you can run around in slow motion and just shoot everyone in the head around you. Of course if they get a few shots on you you’ll die but it’s actually ridiculously hard to get killed even with several people around you I’ve found that throwing 2 Grenades at your feet will cause it most consistently

After 500 hours i literally felt like batman. Going to outposts planning the attack then taking out enemies one by one. It's amazing when you put.fear into the NPCs and they ask for support but nothing shows up because you blew their antennas

After a particularly destructive run I saw one of those larger work trucks pull up to an empty base to check it out, instead of engaging them I just fultoned out their truck when they weren't looking and then retreated back to the darkness to watch from afar When they realized, they called CP to ask if someone borrowed their truck, CP told them someone else probably needed it more so "you should continue on foot." Soldier was heated but he got to walking 😂

To add on to the weapon customisation. Once you upgrade the flagel grenade launcher, shorty shotgun, and the s-1000 shotgun. You can add them to an assualt rifle that has a forward grip slot. Creating two guns in one!

my favorite trick with Weapon Customization is...how shall i put this? research a grenade launcher that has "underbarrel conversion" in the description. you can then use Customization to create an Assault Rifle with a grenade launcher attachment! allowing you to effectively squeeze an assault rifle and a grenade launcher into ONE weapon slot! you also NEED the Customization ability to make full use of Helicopter upgrades, like armor plating. BUT don't overdo it, it also increases the COST of calling the chopper for air support or pickup!

Here’s a simple tip I learned from playing MGSV for too long and finally realizing it. Make sure when your about to Fulton someone or something a guard is at least 30ft away if it’s less they will hear the Fulton system and go and investigate

You can use either a cardboard box or the cassette tape you find in the first mission (the guitar song) to get roaming Mother Base staff to come to you without attacking you.

KZbin compression makes it much worse than the way it sounded in the original video, so it didnt stand out that much at the time. Also if you need easy gmp, make sure you have started mission 21 and then you will receive an emergency alert that your base is being invaded. Accept the emergency and wipe out the enemies invading, this will introduce you to FOB missions where you can invade other player’s bases but they can invade you too. Invading bases can sometimes give you 400,000-1,000,000 gmp for one mission. You also gain many A++ and S tier staff. Hope this tip helped people who didn’t know about FOB missions yet

Uhm the stun arm level 3 is basically overpowered the range is insane, about 45m or something and hits everything on the z-axis The reason not to bring it is that it completely trivializes almost everything, not that it costs 3k GMP to bring it

solution to adaptive difficulty: quiet with a brennan and the blood outfit and you with a serval.. no more problems.. this method works good on where the bees sleep. she destroys the skulls in 20 seconds.

Holy fuck I never knew about the weapon customization. I got through the entire first part/half/chaper just thinking to myself "God some of these weapons would be GREAT to take but if only I had a suppressor and a long range scope for it -- then I can take THIS grenade launcher, and replace the rocket launcher with something else" -- EMP mines and whatnot are also extremely useful and I didn't even know those were in there either. Jesus, seems I missed a lot of stuff. They really spared no expense. If only they had missions or a faction that refuses to be fulton'd or have anti-stun/tranq training to encourage me to not constantly rely on non-lethal means in every mission. So many lethal guns and weapons but not many times times they are required.

To remove troublemakers you can sort the list by their skills, so all troublemakers are together, do this in the all tab and it's easy to find and remove them all, not much time at all.

Best stun is Fulton recovery. It costs a little bit of money, but at least you're done with them. Worst-case scenario you've wasted some pocket change getting them dismissed (what happens to all those "dismissed" soldiers exactly?), but quite often you're recruiting top-notch agents/scientists (apparently better than Huey) standing guard in the middle of nowhere. These elite soldiers must be taking a break for inspiration or something... I don't know why everybody was so intent on cloning Big Boss when those guys often have better combat grades than him and are dime a dozen by end game. Okay, Big Boss looks a lot cooler and has a better voice (especially that of David Hayter), I'll give you that.

You unlock doors faster if tapping Y repeatedly.

If you kick them unconscious while down, they'll stay down for 5 minutes. Chokehold is only 4m. Combo is 15m, throw is 30s. Think throwing unconscious people against a wall increases the stun. Also, you can do two types of leg sweep while prone, depending if face up or face down. The "impact"value of weapons tells you noisy a shot is on impact. Eg. shotshells have very low impact and tend to go unnoticed, while slugs will alert enemies in a wide radius, irrespective of silencing. It also has to do with armor penetration. Headshots and killshots seem to be very noisy too, for some reason.

Different people were saying different values back then, thats why im thinking of redoing this video like my newest "Top 20 Beginner Tips" but i kinda need a break from the game after doing that video:) Maybe some values got changed since then, but i was trying to use the base values. I didn't know about the enemy preparedness, that's something I need to check out. I knew it was adaptive difficulty but I didn't know about the preparedness. Btw press and hold RT to increase the range of how far you throw something (Like a frag or decoy). Range goes up a lot.

yes, but there is a set "minimum" they will go down to, before or after you beat mission 30 changes it also. After mission 30, I believe certain categories never go below a 2 or 3, which makes sense -- you aren't a newbie anymore, and you have access to most weapons by then. So you cant reset them all to zero or 1. Activating the chicken hat should reduce all values to the lowest that they are allowed (you need to die multiple time in the same area and a prompt to equip the chicken hat will happen:)

So, my main takeaways are 1: putting an enemy to sleep, as opposed to stun, will not trigger an alarm when they wake up, 2: short term stuns can be turned into long term stuns by waking them up and 5-hit combo'ing them, 3: the soldier poster on the cardboard box can be used to get enemies to turn around and ignore you, and 4: you can take away all these bullshit factors that ruin strategies by equipping the chicken hat then restarting.

I got most footage recorded, and most of the script -- but the main thing is the time it takes to edit it alone versus the views I get. The first one took 2 weeks to edit and i have 25K views after 8 months. So I got to decide if taking 1.5 weeks (40 hours+) to edit is worth the amount of views for a 3 year old game. Or should I be focused on newer games? This was the first video I got 100K views, so the audience is there -- its just about making some time, so hopefully I dont keep u wanting to long.

Hey I used to watch your guides for MGSV long ago. useful. But after I got burned out I got Ghost Recon WILDlands on sale and I love it! it's like a expansion to MGSV with more to see. Gigantic map with more variety of environments than TPP. it's relaxing to just go on virtual walks sometimes no joke. and lots of vehicles to help you get around faster, including flyable helicopters. You could've done videos on that game. But I noticed even recently there are still GRWL vids popping up this year and few months ago. ok be well ^_^

I did a couple "fast exp" videos for the game way back, but I did really enjoy it as well. I beat the game, never got to the DLC. I kinda moved away from tip videos though. Its a lot of work and you dont get to add much personality in those kinds of videos. I did two update MGSV videos (Top 20 Beginner and Advanced Tips) and I added more humor to those, but you really need to make videos on the NEWEST games right when they come out, and hope you can gain an audience. Its hard. Thank you for the input, I liked doing strategy videos but there is so much research that you need to do to make sure what you show is right. I moved toward more humor-based stuff the last year, add I have been enjoying it so far. I will check those newer GRWL videos to see what they are talking about, but I kinda need to use footage from newer games I've noticed to get better views. Thanks again.

Besides,Hideo had the game mechanics programmed to where they end up belly up,still breathing but unconscious but their comrades don't try to revive them Plus the longer they stay out of the fight means that I can complete my objectives. It's different from mgs3 snake eater in the mangrove swamp where if after you tranquilize the enemy and drop them off the pier they'll drown.

I made the video about 2 weeks after the game came out for Upload, then I moved it to KZbin about 8 months later, but it was still very early in the life of mgsv so some stuff we didnt know yet. But then there were things I knew of, like demon points, but i was making a list of tips that you could use to help you out. I didnt want just a list of "cool" things you could do, but to be honest, its been so many years that i may not have know about the grenade thing at that time. When i was replaying the game i swear it tells you how to throw them both ways, but that was over a year ago, so im not sure on that:) Also, i dont think i gave this list to much though back then. I did a Top 10 Beginner list, then i did a Top 10 Advanced as a follow-up. Making just 20 tips total for this game is very easy, and there's a lot i just couldnt fit in.

Here's some tips to avoid red areas in the game's adaptive system: Prioritize destruction of riot suits, helmets, and body armor whether it be convoy sabotage, or factory shed destruction. I started doing more combat deployments and it helps. Second is to deploy less at night in free roam and more in day time, so that when you rtb and do a mission or just go free roam at night for a more difficult side op, the enemies have less lights and night time countermeasures

My personal experience says otherwise. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that your statements are bullshit, but rather I did not had any problem, while I still operated mostly at night in my story&side missions. Though it is true. that I mainly use hold-ups and sneaking to an extend, that I literally played trought all of the main missions to S rank, while only "using" the default pistol and knife (I must say that I do not consider myself a professional of the game, I just merely got used to all the hidden mechanics and features). But as you stated, said diffculties won't occure as long as the player prioritizes on the destruction of military equipment, and plays side ops during the day, but I'd add my tipp(s) too: try avoiding killing enemies, in main missions there is almost an intended infiltration route, where you can complete the mission stealthily; use the tranquilizing firearms and instead of targeting the head, aim for arms and legs. This way you can take down enemies in a quick succsession (even those that are close to each other), and if you are fast they won't have time to react, and you don't have to have godlike aim and reflexes to to do so. If it's to risky to leave quy in hold-up, just fulton him, and later you can fire him via the i-pod. There are a lot of tactics in this game and I could talk about it for hours, but I think these are the essential information to avoid the punishing reaction from the adaptive system. (ps.: Sorry if there is grammatical errors in my comment, my main language isn't english)

The fully charged stun arm is the 4th longest stun in the game, barely behind sleep weapons and long enough to hold up every soldier within an outpost; it is also the 2nd longest AoE stun, after the sleep grenades, and it only has a GMP deployment cost. If you go from one mission to the next by foot (or ground transport), one only has to pay the deployment cost once. Also, by sneaking into an outpost and charging the stun arm preemptively, one can take down outpost using nothing but the stun arm. It does have a long cooldown for the max charge AoE.

The footage in this video was taken shortly after the game launched in 2016, so there really wasnt much info on it back then. Most people didnt have the stun arm yet. Ive been recording new footage and doing some testing to a follow-up video im planing, but its hard finding a stun effect list online that everybody agrees on, so ive been recording my own times for every stun type in the game. Its been taking awhile because im trying to get repeatable info, but yes, back then i wasnt as sure because the game just came out. thanks for watching tho;)

Seven years after this posting, but during Occupational Forces, if you find where the officer you're supposed to eliminate/fulton comes from (easier to start mission from the left starting point outside the ACC, you go even farther to the left down the road and he'll spawn there) , you can farm fultoning his vehicles to sell for GMP. You can collect and sell his tanks for a healthy 100,000 each tank. To go faster, run back up the road until you get a checkpoint/save and you can restart the mission. As of this post, I'm at 470 hours and i cannot tell you how annoying the gameover screen is.

I did a video on this VERY thing back then, I believe. It was for "unlimited GMP" or a similar title to some effect. I run there with the horse, drop some decoys on the road, then i move around and Fulton all the vehicles. I made it before all the "Top 10/20 Tip videos" as well! This was out in 2016 if i remember.
