Strymon Combos - Brig And The V2 Pedals

A few years back, my guitarist started rebuilding his rig after having a Duane Allman copy rig his whole life ( he's 68). Since then, he's purchased a ZUMA, Iridium, Bluesky and Timeline. I'm about to replace my Headrush with an Iridium, Cloudburst, Zuma, and Brig. If you want the highest quality and creative pedals around, you only have to go to Strymon. NICE!!!! If Strymon did a Uni-Vibe and a Polyphonic/Harmonizer pedal like the Mobius style, they would dominate. Besides dirt pedals and Eq 200 the rest on my board are Strymons 😅

Oh my... I just got home from my fave store (Long & McQuade in Canada) with my brand-new-in-a-box Strymon Brigadier. Hmmmmmmm........ What to do here.... STOP!!! Yikes! I can't keep up!

Is everything other than the DECO after the Iridium in the chain?

Yep - each example is different, and the screen will darken on the pedalboard to reveal each pedal used, and what the setting was. Hope that helps!

What was the inspiration behind "Canadian Riffage" Sean?

Hey there Bob - these always come together in a very short amount of time for me, so I can occasionally be at a loss for why something gets named the way it does :-) The riff sort of felt a little like something from the 80's Canadian pop era...Paul Janz, Glass Tiger, Keep It Dark, HoneyMoon Suite, The Bears, Sarah McLaughlin, etc etc - nothing really specific. Wow, there's a lot O' Canada in there!

@@strymon I never knew there was any sort of outside appreciation for a "Canadian" guitar sound of any kind. Fascinating to hear your perspective. As a Canadian, my perspective is that the most famous Canadian guitar sound to date was hijacked by the famous Icelandic band Sigur Ros, who's guitarist Jonsi took the bowed/reverb 100% wet electric guitar sound directly from Godspeed You! Black Emperor guitarist Efrim Menuck who used bows and screwdrivers to bow the strings of his Les Paul through 100% wet reverb to create a wall of ambient noise. Efrim was doing this since the early 1990's and Jonsi saw him do it at the Iceland Airwaves Festival in 1995 and took the sound. Also Sianspheric who's song "Broken Man" from 1995 inspired the sound of Sigur Ros' most famous piece of music - "Svefn-g-englar" from their 1999 album Ágætis byrjun. Neil Young and The Maker, also highly influential outside of Canada. Especially through U2 and a few Alt Country & roots records infused with the echo > Vox AC30TB about to blow up guitar sound.
