Strymon Iridium || Is it as good as they're saying?

For my Presets visit: johnnathancord... So this is me unboxing and plugging the Strymon Iridium in for the first time. Some of the marketing on this thing is pretty out there, so I wanted to see what it's like, as a Kemper and a Helix user.

I’m definitely not a “digital “ guy but Strymon has managed to turn me. Have ordered one, but sadly it’s back ordered for several weeks 😔. This guy’s playing and sounds doesn’t help me be patient . Can’t wait to start using it!

man, the iridium is by far way less versatile than the hx stomp. John, I honestly dislike your tone when you play through an HX Stomp. You sound AMAZING through the Iridium. There is just a vibe I can´t hear when you play the HX. Please please please try to update this review with the Iridium paired with an Ox Stomp.

Very nice nuanced and dynamic playing which often lacks in other demos. This is actually what is the do or die test with all amps and sims, if you can lean in with the pick and whack it without the pedal, amp sim choking, and back off. The delicate and intimate response of a clean high headroom real tube amp. Keep up the good work...

I have ordered the iridium. I currently play direct through a tech 21 blonde pedal and that set up works fine for me but looking for something that will allow me to have a simpler set up (less pedals). I found the helix to be a little complicated setting up a good tome. Hoping the strymon does the trick! Thank you for the Demos

johnnathancordy no way, Iridium is near to Kemper. You’ll heard that by overdriving Iridium’s input with a boost, HX or Gigb can’t match. I was at one click from getting a Gigboard, but god shown me the light, now I waiting for Iridium’s delivery, I needed a focused amp/cab sim.

great playing. but it does not convince me, it lacks the warm of a tube amp, the organics of it. it´s like tring to emulate a vinyl from a mp3 player to my ears. it´s nice for practicing at home with headphones only.

I have a few comments: 1. It's to expansive mini amp. € 429. 2. The sound of this unit is not better than BaroniLab mini amp. 3. It doesn't sound amp tube like mine ears 4. Do iridium mini take pedal well

I do have monitors but you're not hearing them here, this is the direct sound. If you're interested in use jbl lsr305 monitors but you can't hear them here!

I love it!!! Here’s the problem, you make the Stomp/Helix sound amazing and after hours of tweaking, the Helix and Stomp I have had sounded Horrible!!! I got wonderful sounds out of my Kemper and Fractal after tweaking as well as even the Line 6 X3. You make everything sound great and I’m still skeptical on this because of this🤣🙌💪👏

So, you are the perfect guy to ask, since you have a Kemper. Does the Iridium give you the amp in a room sound or do you only get the Mic sound recording an amp? I have a Kemper, and have a hard time adjusting to that sound. I am not a gigging musician.

I think it depends what you're plugging into - Kemper and Iridium will both do a good job, but they're not an amp in the room, so you'll probably struggle if that's literally what you want to hear?

Either you're still planning to do a video where you will answer the question in your title or this video is, sadly, rather useless:( I was really hoping for some kind of "resolution" or conclusion, especially since, as you state it yourself, you have the possibility of comparison with other equipment that's similar to the Strymon.

You know when you wiggle the guitar it doesn’t create vibrato, right? The strings actually have to bend.

If you'll notice he's putting opposing pressure on the body with his right forearm as he pulls the neck back and forth. It doesn't create vibrato per se but it creates an effect you can really only get from a bolt on neck. Tons of players do this.
