Thanks for doing this. I have the pedal too and came to similar conclusions. The rotary sounds like a stereo mic'd Leslie cab, which can be cool to have in stereo, and the chorus can be cool for some spread, otherwise mono is better. Thankfully though the only sound I found to not be totally mono-compatible was the trem - it has less apparent intensity if you record it in stereo and sum it to mono later.

so if you want pre/post and stereo you need an ES-5 or ES-8? is there any other way?

yeh if you want both without swapping cables, ES-8 would be the way to go, or a 2nd mobius! or a multiFX like axe-fx / line 6 that let you swap the order of modules within the system. Some people also run an H9 as a 'catch-all' at the end of their chain, just to have an effect of each time in that position in one small box.

thanks for the reply. oh yeah you're right only ES-8 does stereo. I noticed on the official Mobius demo video of the vibe machine they switch from mono to stereo, and stereo vibe = not too bad at all. that's actually what sold me on it. and I just couldn't justify the warped vinyl price. great videos thank you :-) btw the tremolo in stereo was disturbing 100% agree.

@@vac8846 thanks. yeh warped vinyl looks great although Mobius destroyer can reach similar territory and the filters in it sound great ie for that telephone / old radio effect.

sorry man one more n00b question. If i have mobius in (stereo) loop 7 or 8 of ES-8 it will still output stereo even when i switch it in front of (mono) dirt pedals? is that how it works? like magic? if i had the cash for an ES-8 i would be very tempted to get an Iridium instead for some stereo action ;)

@@vac8846 no it will 'sum' the mobius outputs to mono to send that signal thru the dirt pedal. If I remember correctly it might be possible for the ES-8 to run pedals in parallel though so if you had two dirt pedals in separate loops of the ES-8 you might be able to assign one to the left and one to the right following the mobius' signal. The iridium would be a great alternative. In my case I don't often use dirt and modulation at the same time and when I do its usually mod > dirt in which case I just keep it all mono.
