I'm SO glad I found this video! One of their very best tunes! I was a HUGE Stryper fan back in the '80's. For me, it was Stryper, Van Halen and REZ. This video REALLY cheered me up! I posted it on facebook ... just EXCELLENT!!

This was The Late Show, a FOX program originally hosted by Joan Rivers until she was fired by the network. Interim hosts in the summer of 1987 included Shawn Thompson (seen here) who played Corny Collins in the original "Hairspray", and Arsenio Hall who went on to become the show's permanent host.

The remarks here are so funny, it reminds me of when I was a child. A baptist preacher told me rock music was satan's music, because it has the beat of African voodoo drums. Funny stuff. He said that's why they don't dance. I listen to all genres of music, and I don't feel it has affected my walk with God.

Not sure why people are trying to convince me I can't like all of the bands being mentioned at the same time. I dig Metallica. I dig Stryper. I dig guitar rock. I don't care what any of them are wearing when they perform, or if they are Christian or evil, straight or gay. Do they SOUND good. In my opinion, Stryper does, and Michael Sweet's voice could always make the hair on my arms stand on end. Thanks for posting.

St. Paul was once a skeptic. He would later say that what he once thought of as foolish was glory to him (1 Corinthians 1:18, that is in the New Testament if you care to look it us sometime). Maybe one day you'll feel the same way. Peace to you friend. :)

I saw them playing in Madrid, Spain, recently and they are really good, they are rock stars indeed. One day I went seing a concert of FireHouse and I realized that few bands are one step further, they play with real TALENT, passion and quality. Firehouse is one, and STRYPER for sure too.

This was before the FOX network & the Arsenio Hall show. I remember this. They were in the TV listings but their name was ommited in the intro. They only mentioned:' and we have a christian rock band, wich should be good'. No playback. Vocals sound great.

@TheFryingFish He is perfect, and He did create us as beings who have a free will to choose to follow Him, or to not follow Him. He will judge us on what decisions we made with what we knew and whether we had been given the truth enough to understand it...He's not condemning someone for what they don't know.

@TigertailzBezerk Stryper does talk about sin in Soldiers Under Command..."through Him, without sin, we have victory..." They don't go into what is sin, and what isn't. I'm sure they figured that it was for each one to work out their salvation with fear and trembling, as it says in the word. Also, they handed out the word of God at their concerts, so kids would read and understand what sin was directly from God's word, and from the promptings of the Holy Spirit, our Wonderful Counselor.

Because some of the words in the original language have ambiguous or difficult to translate meanings, debates over the correct interpretation occur. For instance, the word used in the masoretic text at Isaiah 7:14 to indicate the woman who would bear Emmanuel is alleged to mean a young, unmarried woman in Hebrew, while Matthew 1:23 follows the Septuagint version of the passage which uses the Greek word parthenos, translated virgin, and is used to support the Christian idea of virgin birth.(wiki)

Oh they're definitely singing but there is added extra harmony parts during the chorus and hook. It's more than just three-part harmony and there's nothing wrong with tracking specially during that time had to sound like the album there was so much production that you had to have tracks or keyboard player to do a lot of their stuff especially in the God we trust album live I remember when to hell with the devil came out I got it with its original picture. I can't even remember but I know ther

@mrv1967 I've seen that sort of attitude in concert, but I think it's just him trying to perform...I have seen him more recently, since his wife passed away, and I don't see that attitude any longer. With all the success, it does affect people, but if that's the biggest thing that he's had to deal with, then I'm glad the Lord seems to have dealt with him regarding that.
