On this twelfth day of the STS-94 mission, the flight crew, Cmdr. James D. Halsell, Jr., Pilot Susan L. Still, Payload Cmdr. Janice E. Voss, Mission Specialists Michael L. Gernhardt and Donald A. Thomas, and Payload Specialists Gregory T. Linteris and Roger K. Crouch focus on developing better methods for the efficient use of fossil fuels while reducing emissions and air pollutants. The seven-astronaut crew -- divided into two teams -- provides on-orbit assistance to ground controllers throughout the mission conducting these, and as many as 30 other experiments in the Spacelab pressurized module. The goal is to emulate what laboratory work will be like on the future International Space Station. Released July 1995.
