I started building a new 2.5 inch exhaust yesterday for my b16 1990 CRX SMF autocross car. I installed a Vibrant 1793 resonator just past the shift linkage and put a v-band after the resonator. I knew I wasnt going to get finished today so I welded a down turn on the other side of the v-band just to see what it would sound like. I took it on a quick trip around the block and dear god is it deafening. The tanber is great though, no rasp even in vtec. Outside the car it really isn't stupid loud and has a nice deep note to it but inside; let's just say I have been to quieter rock concerts. I think it may be a viable option if I trailer it or remove the rest of the exhaust at the track but I cant see driving it more than 5 minutes without ear protection with just the down turn.

Nice, thanks.

Having a small side exit extension for the exhaust would likely help a bit with daily driving and if you just used clamps and basic hangars you could disconnect it once you get to the track in just a few minutes. I'm running in STS class too in the CCR division of the SCCA so I've got some work to do.

Yeah, or even an extension that runs to the rear attached with clamps. I went all in thinking I would have a trailer for it this year... aaaand I don't lol

@@MuffinRacing Yeah. I'm lucky that I live close to the venue for most of the local events. I'm in Charlotte, NC and the club uses ZMax Drag-strip across from Charlotte Motor Speedway so I only drive about 10 minutes for an Autocross.

Bring that thing down to ASR next season. I'll pay your $65 track day!!
