You get to Monster Condo, and this starts playing. It's dark, and Our Hero's cautiously looking to either side already-ever vigilant for the endless amount of traps that are inevitably on this map.

Nope. But it has its own unique horror vibe. More rough. Both Courtyard and Monster Condo are vastly different experiences because of this. And while that was the original version of this music I've heard, still, hardly anything comes close to the guitar (and more varied instruments later, which create a haunting feel) in General MIDI version, which gives a more sad and deeper atmosphere. ...Until one hears what Andrey Avkhimovich did to this track : O While I admit it is less varied in his version, and thus suffers in the latter part because of this, the first part is ... just listen to it. It's second to none, simply put. Either way, this song really stands out from all of the first/second DooM songs.
