It’s weird when I first watched this episode, the character trait of Stuart complaining about his life and wanting to die was getting dry at this point. Oddly, it’s kinda satisfying that he enjoyed his time with Howard’s mom and was acting more positively.

Yh but that’s because there’s a lot of arranged marriages so a lot of the time it’s because of the 2 families that they are getting married in the first place instead of love which granted often does come after spending time with their arranged spouse. The same thing happened with European Royalty who all married each other because of the family lineage and not because of love or pregnancy like how the western version of marriages usually happen.

Stuart has been kicked in the teeth by fate his entire life. No one would give him the time of day let alone depend on him as friend and care giver. He found someone that needs him, and it's not strange that he sees through all the unpleasant parts of the relationship.

Many people would be more comfortable with someone familiar or who reminds them of someone familiar rather than a complete stranger. Plus, she didn't need a bunch of intricate medical care, she needed basic living care -- toilet and bathing help, feeding help, movement help, which you don't need to be a registered nurse to do.
