An attractive high quality part that isn't entirely impractical, as whilst your radiator cover is likely to be smashed to pieces by debris, the coverage of the mudguard does appear to protect the riders chin 😁

Cheers Stu. My Triumph is slowly shortening its own front guard by rusting at both ends!

Glad you pointed out the bracing of the fender. There was only the Triumph short fender when I did this 5 yrs ago. Glad to see more options now.

that shirt fits perfect, its all about layers. i have gone up and down with each marriage, that two times of gaining weight, now its injury that has made it difficult with weight loss. any ways, never got rid of good cloths. still wear stuff from 25 years ago. i guess i am not trendy. lol

Nice piece of kit , and couldn't help notice your jack is as well, with the locking plate on the side, good design, my old hydraulic jack used to loose pressure and slowly loose height , I now use a scissor jack with a small platform. Cheers 🍻

It'd be a good idea to put a bit of copper slip or similar on those mudguard fixing bolts as the electrolytic reaction between the steel bolts and the aluminium fork castings makes them a bitch to get out ,hence the white powder that came out when you removed them.Itll just make it easier if you change your mind about the shorty mudguard or have to remove it in the future.Just my humble opinion and it could save you a world of pain in future, ask me how I know......

Morning Stewart. Nice finishing touch. Fingers crossed you get the weather to ride it without getting a wet back and dirty engine. Someone we knew in Wales built a bobber years ago. How he cussed everytime it rained. Safe riding sir 👍.

l own a Street Triple 675 it has absolutely no protection against road crud thrown up by the wheels... if caught in rainy weather both the bike and myself are covered in a layer of road filth... Fortunately l live in a country not noted for rainfall....

Lucky you sir. We're drowning in the wet stuff in the UK currently. And only last week my Royal Enfield was gleaming 😂😂😂, oh well that's a bikers life...

A nice demonstration, although I am trying to find an aftermarket full mudguard that guards against mud etc.

Reminds me of the short alloy mudguards i put on my Eddy Mercxx racer in the late 70's ! Isnt it about time you put the stainless rear guard on your Interceptor ? 🤔

When fitting 'shortie' mudguards you have to resign yourself to be covered in road grude when riding in inclement weather... Its true short 'sports' mudguards look, well, sportier....(its a very common fashion feature on most motorcycles anyway).. but as far as function is concerned they are useless. A friend of mine owned a Japanese 'Hog' lookalike, covered in chrome and customised bits, you needed to wear Ray-ban's just to view it in 'bright sunlight'...

Now we know why the mule is a favourite, wet road compatible and modest power👍 When you got a handful of bikes to choose from, life on the road is dictated by the weather as much as the mood. You’re a LOB. I’m a LOB and the fact we shuttle bikes around in limited space is, in my case anyway, because I don’t need more bikes🤗 (Lucky old bugger)

Another great video! My new Bobber made a strange squeaking sound when stopping (braking). We determined the noise wasn't from the brakes, but the front fender bolts weren't tight enough. As you said, the front folks need breaking, and any loose bolts will cause noise issues. We tightened them with a drop or two of Loctite and the noise disappeared. Can I ask what paddock stand you use? Finding one that clears the rear license plate is a challenge.

Looks... fine, but not for me. I prefer the old school looks that are also actually practical. First thing I did on my speedmaster is add a mudguard _extender_ on the front (well, the back of the front, if you know what I mean). Now, if Motone did a mudguard that was _bigger_ than the original I might be interested...

Hi Stuart, Loving this series. I see you have Motone’s brass bar end finishers on the bars that you have fitted without Triumphs bar end mirrors. Was this by choice or the mirrors wouldn’t fit with them on? I’m looking at buying a pair but do not want to loose my mirrors. Thanks, Jamie

That’ll get you wet and help damage your radiator. Mudguards can’t guard if they aren’t really there. Having said that if you are a fair weather motorcyclist and like them ,it’s your bikes people. I understand American people put guitars on theirs …. Fenders 🤣 Good luck to the sellers I’m sure there is a market for small mudguards

Hi. If my memory serves me correctly the WW2 service men returning needed that adrenaline rush they got in combat and the old Harleys and Indians did the trick for them. They would take the front fender off the bike and put in on the rear because it was already "bobbed" or cut down. Like a girls "bobbed" haircut. Cut to just below the ears... The start of the bad boy biker gangs was totally manufactured by the media in 1947 in the town of Hollister California. The "Hollister riot" or invasion was just a bunch of bikers doing some racing and getting drunk afterword. If you look up "Hollister riot" you will see a gent on a Harley with beer bottles all around him. and no front fender. Totally fabricated image by the photographer. And remember, in the movie "The Wild One" depicting the riot, Brando rode a TRIUMPH!!!
