There are two types of sheep dogs, one is the autharitorian and the other is the pleaser. These border collies realy enjoy pleasing the boss, but lack authority. Their main strength is their movement, but in these confrontations with sheep they are not at their best. An example of an autharitorian type is a german sheppard dog, it wont allow the sheep to do these kind of things.

I have a mini ausie and he does that exact same thing. He will nip at your calf if you run from him. He always wants to herd my cat and my daughter. Hes insanely smart and super fast and agile. Love this dog

Collie did a good job here. The lambs that doesn’t listen are at increased risk of being picked off by predators like coyotes. Dog wasn’t overly aggressive but slowly asserted its authority and pushed the lamb back in line.
