Kirk is a pro, he's dedicated and takes pride in his work. I like how he goes into detail and thoroughly explains things. His stories (recalling old jobs and things people said) are very helpful too.

Luke, use the force, recalling the past is just rambling as I can do this stuff easily. I have to occupy my own mind. cheers🍾

@@StuccoPlastering Everything I've heard you say (including recalling the past and rambling) has helped me. It's part of the reason I watch your videos. I used to work for a pay check only (which is ok I guess, maybe) and I didn't really have any interest at all in what I was doing (turned by my brain off at work and hoped the hours would pass quickly) but after a while I really wanted to understand what I was doing. Started taking notes and looking into things even when I wasn't working. Nowadays I take pride in my work and like understanding the trade.

@@StuccoPlastering Ive been a subscriber for years because I've got a 1930's grey block pebble dashed disaster that I've been trying to repair and continue the dash onto the various claddings that owners have added over the years! Your vids have been enormously helpful

@@45south Cool beans, daddieo, regular dash finishes are easy. But when they have seashells like abalone or colored glass it can be a nightmare finding the exact same aggregates. In fact I tried a few times but could find the right shells. Good luck, check rock quarries.

Hi Kirk, I've been watching alot of your video. Thanks for all the great information on interior plaster work.. Question, what is the A frame scaffolding you use, or are they even available anymore?

Of course they are google them or plastering yards near me to purchase.

Got a plastering question that isn't really related to the video, just a general question. I have to do a lot of drywall patches in my rental properties. Because of the knockdown texture that is ubiquitous where I live, it doesn't make any sense to use tape and float far out the way drywall people do. You want to stay flush to the wall and try to match the texture. That got me thinking about using plaster to fill holes rather than mud and tape. It seems with plaster you don't need tape and you can stay tight to the wall. Question is, what do you think would be the best plaster for this application? Structo-lite maybe?
@StuccoPlastering2 жыл бұрын
Howdy Edge of sanity, I would use a joint compound, either easy sand or whatever they have available. a 20-minute joint compound. Type in "how to match an interior knowdown dash finish." I have a video of how it's done.🍾
@Entertainment_Station_ES2 жыл бұрын
@@StuccoPlastering Okay. You don't think tape would be needed with a 20 minute?
