I saw a video where this guy with thalassophobia played subnautica, and his friend was guiding him. He recommended his friend lean back away from the screen so that the immersion isn’t too real, and to pause the game whenever he needed to. Though I don’t have thalassaphobia (honestly I find deep underwater soothing in a curiosity way) I do have one experience where I probably got the closest I could to having what thalassaphobia feels like cause I was surface diving in the deep ocean, and no matter how much it wasn’t a fear of mine there’s something deeply terrifying when looking into the abyss.

I don't have the fear of gravity reversing per se, but when I look directly up into the sky for too long or at a really tall ceiling, I feel like I'm about to fall upwards. Apparently: Casadastraphobia is the fear of falling into the sky. It is defined as an irrational or pathological fear of falling into the sky.

I legit have the exact same physical reaction to something else, can easily tell this ain’t acting lmao Doesn’t stop me looking at the deepwater without the Minecraft urge to dive in it, to the extent that friends comment on it-
