Thank you Atlantic British. I bought the replacement ignition Key barrel. Installation went just as presented in Video. My vehicle is an American Land Rover 2002 Discovery 2 Westminster edition. My original key was hard to turn even after having a locksmith make a new one. One time, my wife could not get the key out. That is when I decided to change it myself. I was quoted $1200.00 to have it done by professional.

For the little red light just use the white connector from your old switch, snip off the other wires on it and plug it in to the white connector

good-day cuzzn .awesome imfo. no-spark on mine .coil test is good .disturber is good .still no spark .turn key of the fuel pump starts priming..is it my ignition?? all grounds are good .need info thanks. .

stupid questions, why does it use break away bolt? can i just use regular bolts for ease of removal in the future?

no, you need a key-programming diagnostic tool for LR3 keys I believe.

The replacement barrel I received did not have a wire coming out of the bezel going around the key slot. in the video you do not say anything about these wires???

My question is, if my current ignition is not reading the key chip/fob and I get no start, no crank, will yours work by taking out my current one and install yours?

I realize this is an old video, but I hope you guys still look at the comme rs as I have a question. What type of problems would rella jng this part solve ? I have an issue where my steering wheel doesn't lock (period) and my key is finicky, I need to wiggle it around and turn the wheel left and right for it to engage So I can start the vehicle. Turning off the vehicle seems more staright forward as I turn the key off , push it and and turn to remove. The vehicle is a 2003 Land rover discovery 2 SE. Thanks

Bought and fitted this switch, great but have to press fob (unlock) before it will work (starter that is). Anyway I can by-pass immobiliser ?

PS alarm goes off if I use door key but not with fob.

no, this is for D2 only. we don't have a similar kit that will work for Range Rover P38 unfortunately.

I bought an key ignition for my 2001 land Rover discovery ll and it worked great for the first two weeks, I did not need to program my keys However after a few weeks I noticed that my land Rover discovery started acting up with the new key ignition that also did not need no key programming My emergency lights would all of a sudden come on after I would turn my car off, and then my rear windshield wipers would turn on Then finally my anti theft alarm went off and since my original key does not work anymore, I could not get my 2001 land Rover discovery started and more and I contacted my mechanic and he said that I needed to replace my ignition switch with an original because it has a chip and does what activates and disables the alarm Can you confirm if that is true, I have not had to use my original key, because I was using a duplicate cut key without the chip for years and now I can't turn my vehicle on anymore, I don't have the code and I'm looking online to see if I can find a way to disable the alarm to be able to start driving my 2001 land Rover discovery ll Thank you and God bless Best regards Johnny h

Here is a new weirdness for yall.. When I turn my D2 off, the fan motors for for the front and rear continue to run! What a headache to chase that fault.
