I loved Madsen describing what it's like when people see him on the streets. Little kids see him and get all excited because hey! It's the dad from Free Willy! The parents see him and pull the kid away, going, "Don't go near that man." LOL

Love Michael Madsen. He's in my top 10 of all time favorite character actors. But you gotta give some respect to Kirk Baltz (the cop) in this scene. He was toe to toe with Madsen in this scene. His fear and desperation matched the level of crazy and insane that Madsen was portraying. Wild scene but beautifully acted by both men.

Don’t know if it’s true, but I read that his plea for the sake of his kids was improvised and almost broke Madsen, who IRL is much more of an empath.

The genius of this scene is that by showing Mr Blonde playing the song and dancing before he tortures the cop, the viewer sides with him because he seems cool as hell. That makes the torture even worse to witness. That comes through big time in these reactions. When the song starts and he dances everyone smiles and laughs, then it’s straight down hill. Great compilation!
@korganrocks3995
@korganrocks3995 Жыл бұрын
Sure, if you have the memory of a goldfish, and forget that he literally just said he's gonna torture the cop just for fun. At no point did I think he seems cool as hell, and a few old man dance moves ain't gonna change that. Entertaining as hell, yes, but there's a difference between enjoying an entertaining character and siding with him.

This guy was actually their good luck charm, in a really messed up way. Remember, the cops were waiting for them at the bank. They were probably waiting for them to leave the bank before nabbing them, but because Mr. Blonde started killing employees it caused the chaos needed to allow some of them to escape. Otherwise they would have all been arrested or killed as soon as they left the bank.
