Great job ! My wife and I are lifelong Alaskans and have a homestead on the Yetna river we hunt moose as a team and she is the best hunting partner I've ever had.Its nice to see young couples hunting and processing there game together. Good luck and God Bless.

That’s amazing, I’m very jealous of you n your wife haha. Ever since I was little I just loved Alaska’s environment, just everything about it. I really want to move there some day, but some advice would sure help (if you don’t mind). Does it cost a lot of money to live in Alaska? I feel like maybe getting over there and getting settled would be pricey at first, but once you’re settled, is it pretty laid back after that? I’m only 22 so I have some time to save money and all. Thank you, and be safe out there!

Why do anti-hunters watch hunting videos and then post vile comments? And where do these people think the meat they buy at the store comes from? Someone had to kill it; at least hunters are willing to take the responsibility for killing the animals they eat. And, finally, hunters have done far more to support game and nongame animals than any of these bunny huggers have ever done through their license fees and the taxes they pay on the equipment they purchase. Keep up the great work, you two!
@DirtySouth694 жыл бұрын
The anti hunters typically dont know a thing about animals or what they need to survive they just spout of nonsense about hunters being killers and living in the past. Hunting is extremely beneficial to the animals and their populations need to be kept in check. Look how many accidents whitetail deer cause every year ( not to say it's their fault cause, it isn't) it's an extremely high number and I'm pretty sure if you based it on deaths alone they could probably be considered the most dangerous. Without hunter the number would double and triple eventually.

Nah its just gay to hunt for trophies with modern weapons. If you want an ego trip go kill a bear with a spear 1 on 1 lol. That would actually be impressive.
Nice Moose Hunt !! I remember as a boy hunting with my Dad going by horse 13 miles back into the Teton wilderness to get our meat for the year. Their were 3 of us with 6 horses getting 3 elk. It's a memory I'll never forget. Thanks so much for this Hunt.

Take a big bladed standard screwdriver , that has been ground on the leading edge like a chisel , cut from back of antler to ocipatal mound . Use screwdriver to pry up membrane from skull. Cut out the tongue and cheekbones as usual . This screwdriver method gets skulls clean as a whistle. It also is a great aide in removing cape from around antler bases . Try it , I was a Taxidermist/Knifemaker for 24 years .

That's one nice moose! I'm a Canadian hunter, I'm not sure what the laws are in Alaska, but in my home province we have wanton waste laws. Geo Diver the first moose in the video was over 3 miles from the airplane and would of been a nightmare to pack and we possibly could have lost some meat due to spoilage. I also didn’t want the hunt to be over the first morning because I enjoy it so much that I decided to let that bull go in hopes to find a bigger one. I’m glad it worked out because sometimes you regret that decision. Thanks for watching.

I love watching these videos. Such an amazing way to live and sustain life by hunting and harvesting your own food. I've never hunted anything four legged (but I so want to try it) so I have a couple of questions. Sorry for the "list"; 1. What steps do you take while butchering the animal to protect yourself from bears and wolves? Are they attracted to the smell?, and is this ever a problem? Are you allowed to protect your kill or are their laws stating you have to surrender it to predators? 2. When you leave the kill, you must have to leave meat behind and return later due to the large amount (or do you?). What do you do to "protect" it from the elements, insect infestation, etc.? Bury it? (I must sound really ignorant. I apologize. I have no idea) 3. Is there a time when you can (or will) harvest females? Can you for sustenance hunting? Good luck, great videos, stay safe out there!
@Stuckntherut14 жыл бұрын
To answer question 1 and 2, we keep a gun close by while we field dress the animal, and yes, we make multiple trips with the meat. We try to cover the meat in a cool draw with brush on it to keep the smell down. Usually predators will go for the guts first. There is some areas where you can shoot a female for meat, but we prefer the males just so that the female can keep on having offspring. Thank you for your support!
