Trying not to show my ignorance but what are these deer used for? Are they released in the wild to better the wild deer herds or used for trophy hunting? I dont know if deer with this much anterlers could survive in the wild could THEY? Just wondering they look like red stag from Greenland. Interesting VIDEO thank you.

I would love to find one of those sheds. Honestly would never shoot one of these and be proud of it tho. Just my opinion. But never said I wouldn't shoot one lol

I think if you are to have a deer farm you should have the adequate amount of space. At least 10 acres for 10 deer. Not a few acres for that many deer.

I'm confused how one would transfer these obviously domesticated deer and their amazing genetics into a wild animal that one would feel okay shooting in the field? I'm not sure how I feel about this type of "farming", guess I'd rather find one on my own, I dont think this is how a man deer hunts, just my opinion

They are not domesticated.
@jeremiahhedeen38794 жыл бұрын
They live in pens and they talk about selling their semen for reproduction, again this is why I'm confused, they have tracked their blood lines very closely...more like horses that fetch a fine penny for when it comes to breeding, these are far from wild animals in fact if they let you get close enough to collect their semen I'd think they are more like pets that make money, beautiful specimen...but yes this is the definition of domestication
@hsjdndd60814 жыл бұрын
They have to be darted and brought in to collect the semen, it is a large operation when collecting semen on a deer farm. It is not like a horse where you just have a dumby for it to mount. There is a difference between a domesticated animal and a tame one. Go and do some research and you will be quick to find that white tail deer are not domesticated.

@@jeremiahhedeen3879 It's no different than breeding for quality cattle for the meat industry. It doesn't make the cattle domesticated.
@jeremiahhedeen38794 жыл бұрын
@@toasted_.coconut so I look at cattle as a demesticated animal, yes we breed for genetics, but when I go see my cows and shake a bucket they come for food as well as interaction with me, a "wild" non domesticated animal doesn't live in a fence nor want anything to do with me, yes raise a giant buck make it live in a cage and release it just to be shot as a "trophy" doesn seem the same, sorry agree to disagree
