How good is this but ............... how does it go with 13mm or dble thickness gyprock?
@billshowto3 ай бұрын
13mm and double is no issue. I have tested this also👍👍

*EEEK!!* I just looked at the price and fortunately I was sitting down. Guess I will be using my 1.5mm drill to find the studs for a while yet. *Thanks* for the video though Bill. Much appreciated.

Hows the Ryobi? I've been having a hard time finding a reliable affordable one
@RuthCrocker3 ай бұрын
@@ftr911drvr The Ryobi one I bought from Bunnings is great. Much easier to use than my really old school one. It also detects AC behind the plasterboard. Was about $50.

Curious to know how it would go with a wall cavity stuffed full of insulation
@josephcullen25123 ай бұрын
Wow epic! Some very interesting possible uses for this! Good thinking on using it to see if there's a rodent in a wall... Or bees indeed... Makes me wonder what other uses there could be outside of building trades! Like if there was an animal stuck... Or I dunno there are probably lots of things I can't think of right now. I know there's a relatively new Bosch tool that does a similar job as this but it costs an arm and a leg and might not be as versatile... This is still not cheap but at least it's not more than a grand because I think the Bosch tool is. For tradespeople the price is nothing compared to the cost of hitting a water pipe or whatever... For a non tradesperson like me I'm just tempted by all the possible off label uses heheh

Great question. We have brick with lath & plaster walls so I'm looking forward to Bill's further testing

Fascinating. I suspect if you have a beehive behind your wall, though, you'll know it soon enough. 😄

This is not a diy tool. If it were half the price it would still not be a diy tool. I could not justify AU$600 for a tool that I would use only maybe once every couple of years. Ill stick with my old one that only costs a new battery every use as its so long between uses that it goes flat. Umm.... must remember to take the battery out.
