200,000 were produced and 152,000 were sent to Russia during WW2, The "Studebekkers" were trusted for their reliability and ruggedness. They where toleranr to low quality gasoline It contributed greatly to the Red Army mobility and help them go from Stalingrad to Berlin in the shortest possible time.

What a beautiful vehicle! Was it 4/5 of entire production sent to the Soviet Union ? Quite advanced for the day. It became the foundation of Russian trucks for a long time. They also broke down our military jeeps and the guts of their popular Russian jeep remained their innards well into the 1960s. Those jeeps were manufactured for export and became popular around the world. But these Studebaker trucks were fabulous. Ask any Russian veteran of WW2 and beyond. YOU'RE WELCOME , RUSSKIS !!

The U.S. Army used G.M. trucks , mostly. The Studebaker US6 was sent to the USSR.

The us military used primarily GM trucks in 3 ton and higher capacity but GM could barely meet the production needs for the us alone so other manufacturers were contracted to fill the needs of the alliance Studebaker was a great company and it's products were of equal and higher quality than the big three so you weren't getting a lesser vehicle in fact it was probably better and yes the us did use Studebakers but in limited numbers

Это копия газ 51, который ещё до 2й мировой войны, спроэктировали и испытали наши инженеры, и двух остный и трёх остный и полно приводные, в серию не запустили до войны промышленные террористы, показывали чертежи и несколько трёх осных вариантов газ 51,передними крыльями отличаюца, у нас полу круглые, вот и думаем.

No infact the later Russian designs were based on the Studebaker and it's 6x6 drive system was pioneerd by dodge w series army truck that later became the 4x4 power wagon

Нет. Студебекер это не копия Газ 51. Между ними нет схожих деталей. Кроме мостов. Но сам Студебекер не выпускал мосты, а закупал чужие.

@@oscarwalton1188 Russian models were not based on Studebaker. Even before the start of World War II, the USSR designed a prototype Gaz 33 6x6, which then began to produce a ZIS plant called Zis 151. Structurally, Zis 151 is similar to Studebaker only in Axel Timken. Before the war, the USSR bought a license from Timken.
