The Professor gave himself an Everything-Proof shield in every scenario. All that did was prove he was a cruel, control freak. The outcomes of the thought experiments proved that he was hated by his students because of his cruel nature.
@eadbert19352 жыл бұрын
Well, for the first 2 thought experiments, it was completely fine. First one taught the students that you shouldn't think about what you need before entering. And that undisclosed abilities might still be better than non-existent ones. Second one taught them that a single person having all the power doesn't work, and people should always try to share power so one person can't decide all. One thing control freaks never expect... they are always hit by their own blowback. Entropy is never stopped, never destroyed. Like energy, it can only change form. If you let it be organic and work with people, instead of controlling them, the damage is minimal and often more good than bad. If you are a control freak, you only kill the chaos on the surface, you are laying your own landmines, and the narcissism behind being a control freak makes you not only unable to know where the landmines are but unable to know that they exist. Also, the blowback from being a control freak, like other negative things, hits more like a bomb than a bullet... good and-or innocent people are casualties of it too.

I try to tell this to those authoritarian, control freak buttwipes, but the never listen. Being an abusive, controlling a-hole twats seems ingrained in their DNA, personality, and instincts it seems. so it's best to avoid them, get away from them, or take them out before they wreak havoc on the peace at their first signs. You know it's coming, they let you know the blowout's coming little by little, or with a tantrum, or a chaos spasm right out the gate with a smirk on their face, so if I were in that situation with a control freak, I'd take them out early before they rile up the troops to go do their nefarious, petty, and destructive bidding. If I'm alone with them, then it's easier. Get them before they get you. The worst thing in the world to a control freak is no one to control (so they won't kill you if you're the only one left, they need that supply). But you not being a control freak are the opposite, being without the pill would be heaven, and you have no interest in controlling them, and the peace, tranquility, and quiet without them around would be a great change. Just gotta be smart about it. I'm very quiet, observant, and just stick to myself, especially in group settings, but I got myself a game plan if I ever find myself stuck in a situation with an aggressor control freak in some Lord of the Flies situation. They get right down to brass tacks being themselves and trying to demand, boss, and push everyone around and whisper poison and b.s, and show-pony crap, and rumors in the ears of others to gain power and influence. So I already have a plan to take that particular individual out early before the flame up can start. I'm talking day one. Not day two, day, seven, day fifty, but day one. Don't got time for it and all it takes is one of them to ruin everything on their powertrip. Take out the ringleader first, then the equally horrible underlings who may step up to fill their shoes, and leave the peaceful people who can actually work together like reasonable human beings and not some rage, psychotic, illogical, cruel demons on crack. Then get back to my own business. Most human beings can live in peace....troubles start when you get even one of the psychos in your groups, ranks, villages, towns, or cities and they start breeding little mini-thems.

I never get the "running out of oxygen" thing in some movies, especially ones where you can distinctly see plants in the bunker/enclosed area. And that would solve the food problem, too. I think that Petra made a good move when she picked the last group. Since they (almost) all have art-related interest they can bound through that and keep the group cohesion. Also, it's practical to entertain yourself since they are stuck in a closed space for an entire year! Yes they don't have technical skills but they can learn to survive on the way. pick fruits and plants, make a tent (bad at first, but overtime you improve it). The first humans learned from scratch anyways. we can survive without a degree in something. If that group stayed cohesive and open-mided to learn along the way, I think they have a fair shot at survival. Even if they can't leave the island. Their children will try. It's not a big deal.

A lot of their first choices were weird, an orthopedic surgeon in the post-apocalypse? Ah yes lets perform primarily non-vital surgery in an environment with little to no support staff with limited to no access medicine to support said operations. I'm sure it will go great performing shoulder surgery on a man using non-sterile tools and using only alcohol and aspirin as painkillers during the surgery. Honestly a poet is probably be more useful than an orthopedic surgeon since at least he could probably keep people entertained or something. Maybe a psychotherapist would be useless too unless she lives in complete isolation as she will be biased towards her 0-9 patients due to having or developing close relationships with them over the course of a year or more of isolation. Senior medical personnel in general are probably pretty useless due to specialization of skills. I would take a nurse or EMT over most surgeons. You are far more likely to need to treat a broken bone, dislocated shoulder, concussion, rash, choking, or other traumatic injury over needing to perform open heart surgery or replace someone's knee.

I'll try to shine some light on it for you :) I've watched a different video on the movie (don't ask im just not in the mood for homework) in which he explained it like this: The Teacher wan't to be with the girl and knows that she wan't things to end and stay with her bf. He makes up a scenario where he makes himself the Key to everything aka he wan't her to "see" that she needs him (in life) to furfill her dreams(thats why she wants to leave bc she knows hes trying something and he makes her stay by blackmailing her. The reason he does this is bc he sees it in her...she is the best student he ever had...the one he can't/won't succeed in life and the one he can't life without bc he loves her so much. That's why he tried to get her bf the "useless" attributes and he himself gets the literall KEY to everything. The first scenario doesn't work out the way he planned so makes another one. That one also fails and the girl now sees through his plans and makes it clear she only wants to be with her bf...so she doesn't care about the scenario anymore and uses it to let him know she wants peace...so she picks the "useless but entertaining" attribute students and would rather have a furfilling life than "just surviving" (theres a quote on that idk anymore who said it but:"I don't want to survive...i want to life".) so his last try has failed and she talks with him at the end and with the knowledge that she won't ever come back..he takes the pistol and well..you know the rest.

Scenarios were good, decisions were bad and good, the teacher is a scary cat because he doesn't want die, he wants the girl all to himself. Tbh. I also don’t know why you would need any modern specialists when you do not even have the recourses to melt iron in large quantities to create basic tools. In the bunker, it would make a bit more sense but in the outside world, kickstarting civilization isn’t just based on knowledge but also capability.

Picked a Senator? That's more useless than a poet.
@Arcaryon2 жыл бұрын
Depends. He has management skills, probably is good with managing projects and arguably, due to their average age, has a lot of experience in many aspects of life. The poet could also be a good choice because remember; modern specialists are a result of a pyramid. We can live without poets. Poets can also live without being poets. But nobody can live without farmers / hunters aso. Secondly, while specialists often require a lot of people to work under them in order to actually function, if you have ever tried to manage a group of more than 2 people, you will realize that having people in charge can be very useful for the overall effectiveness of any given project.

If you think one year would be enough time for the radiation, from the world wide nuclear fallout, to clear; you might want to rethink that movie.
@afiqazman66152 жыл бұрын
The only problem I have with this movie is... how come the eidetic soldier knew the bunker exit code? Movie only explained that it was because of the previous thought experiment. But the experiments was reset each time, and she never did anything on the third experiment that made the bunker builder gave out the exit code. Everyone dies on the first and second experiment, nobody lives until the third experiment. So by logic, the soldier would never knew the code at all.
