Teachers are so underrated because we don't get to see their great impact on their students' lives until much later.

I'm 16 and in 10th grade. 4 weeks ago I wrote a thank you letter to one of my teachers who taught my 3 years ago who had a really great impact on me and she helped me a lot. Also smiling to each other and saying hello when we walked pass one another always made my whole day. Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most. So, 2 days later she replied to me and said how happy she was to read that and that we could meet in school and just talk to each other after that long time. We met up in school the following week, went to an empty room and were catching up on everything that happened in these 3 years. She told me about a lot of things she’s been going through and I told her about things I experienced. It was the nicest conversation ever and at the end she told me she will always be there for me and I can always come to her. Can you even imagine how grateful I am to her? She means the world to me and there was absolutely no reason I had to write her, I just wanted to and it was the best thing I could’ve ever done. So, just because some students or rather people in general maybe don’t have much gratitude, doesn’t mean that applies to all. Don't generalize the negative, there are soo many people who really do care instead

I had few teachers in my high school and college who impacted my life and helped me find my path in life. These teachers saw in me what no one else could see. I chose the profession because of these teachers. God bless them all

Stupid Covid is preventing me from visiting my teacher. I was the worst at school. Literally zero motivation, straight up no interest in learning whatsoever. And I had to repeat a grade. I landed in her class, we had a surprise grammar test to freshen up some stuff. I got a straight A from her and she rhetorically asked me why I was repeating the grade. I legit didn't have an answer for that anymore. I went from D's to A's and B's just like that. It was so rewarding and blissful to be seen as a successful winner and it gave me so much hope for the future that I did everything to maintain that feeling. I even started to feel bad when receiving B's. It's all thanks to her even though it might not have even been her intention to motivate me like that but she did. She showed me that I'm capable and that I'm not useless by giving me that first A. And it changed everything. I started to see my dreams come true. Though she was very strict and took every second of coming late seriously, she was a fair and competent teacher who did her job very well. I graduated from High School this year. Off to college! I might read this comment to her (or something similar) when I visit her. I truly love her, without that second chance of grade retention I might be employed now instead of doing what I truly wanted to do all along.

I just email my teacher today to tell her how much of an impact she made on me. I’m not even sure if it’s her but I believe in the good of Christ and I believe it’s her. Even if it’s not her, I hope that teacher I email know how much a job can turn lives. She is one of the teacher who taught me to believe in myself and the one that let me know that I’m truly a queen like my name said. One day, I’m going to see her again, as if it was my destiny, and repay her for that one year she taught me before I moved away. 🙏🏻
