Why didn't you feed the audio directly to the video? While it all looks cool, it is disappointing that we are listening to the audio through a less than wonderful microphone and not a direct input of the audio from the C-37 to the video file.
@Pierrelegere
@Pierrelegere 8 жыл бұрын
this is only a demonstration video to show the recording path, also even if I would have used direct audio, the youtube audio conversion and compression makes a judgement of sound through a video pretty useless..
@themotownboy1

I understand, and it is more work to do a direct audio feed, but still the sound would be much better than what is coming through a microphone from a cell phone or camcorder.

Don't worry dear Peter youtube has already very good sound no matter the compression all it matters is the uploaders' how good sound quality they use in their videos . Let us all stop blaming everything on youtube I record music in cassettes yes in cassettes from youtube but from very good sounding videos and they sound if they were recorded from a CDp . Look i love analog sound i'm a fun of it but youtube has very nice sound .

Have y'all *seen* what perceptive encoding *does* to audio? No, you *can't* get that same quality back out of KZbin. It's not gonna happen. In fact it's over before it ever hits the card in the camera. If you can't hear the difference, your ears don't work right or your equipment isn't up to the task. Edit: I agree direct would be better than a small mic but to say it would be "right" is just incorrect.

No puedo entender cómo una de las máquinas más icónicas de todos los tiempos, no tiene V.U. metros propios...usarán los de la consola mezcladora, como V.U. metros remotos ?
@Pierrelegere
@Pierrelegere 2 жыл бұрын

Talk to us. Tell us a bit about what we are seeing! don't just wave the camera around willy nilly. We're not all professional recording engineers. An interesting video spoilt by the lack of commentary. I love this sort of valve tech and would have liked to learn about its history, use, specs, etc.

Why are u moving the camera so fast and too often ?
@Pierrelegere

It was intended as a demonstration video so I tried to make clear how the signal flow is. I switch from original source to recorded signal, that's why I switch camera between mixer and tape machine.

@@tomkent4656 J37 4 track with 1" tape. the individual tracks are almost 1/4" wide! The Beatles recorded most of their music on these starting with "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"; even some tracks on Abbey Road and George Harrison's first album were started on a J-37 and ultimately bumped up to an 8 track machine. Geo Martin stated that the "Sgt. Pepper" album could only have been done on these 4 track machines.
