How can this work for two drives? Is it dependent on which device in the Ethernet tree is plugged in first? I’d like to enable this, I know my scenario would be rare that two are replaced at one time.

I should have read all the comments, however in my experience bootp is out of the box. Best thing I can do is test it. Setting anything out of the box would be preferred in my facility.

You have to set the IP address which makes the two drives unique

Good morning Tim, would you like to teach how to configure the ADC mode on the E-300 Relay. ?

No, I've never played with the ADC on it.

What if you have multiple drives on the same plc? Would this be for a single drive standalone setup?
@user-super-user11 ай бұрын
if you look at 1:10 you can see the drives ip address, if you have multiple drives each will have its own ip address that can be easily set with a standalone tool etc

The PLC uses the IP address to compare what the parameters are on the drive it is talking to vs the saved values in the PLC. If you have a managed ethernet switch you can host a DHCP server to provide IP addresses based on which port each of your drives are plugged into. PF525's ship with DHCP enabled so a fresh one will automatically get an IP address from the switch as long as you plug it into the same port that the old drive was plugged into. And as long as the IP addresses match, ADC will download the configuration that you have saved in the project to the new drive. Did this all the time with Stratix switches to help maintenance guys. All they had to do was replace the drive physically without having to get into Studio 5000 or use keypad to parameterize it.

As others have already said, just assign an IP address to the new drive and the PLC will do the rest.
