Super cool of you to leave that nice comment. All the best. Pete

I was looking for something to help me see a basic program from dropping in rungs to actually assigning them to actual physical inputs and output with Studio 5000!!! This was great, a small amount of FFW once I got past the concept of 24v and 1's and 0's. So the XIO is kinda funky because like you said, it's looking for a loss of 24v to become true and = 1 thus sending the value down the rung. I"ll likely go thru and make a new program and do everything you did so I can assign and name the inputs and outputs. You really broke this down very well with Studio 5000. I was able to click and follow along perfectly. Not a single hitch. Thank you!

This was super useful. Coming from relay logic, I repeatedly mixed this up. Thank you.

currently in PLC class and struggling so much to understand, fell behind and the instructor just keeps throwing info at us, if any ask for help we get chastised and told we should know this. thank you for this great break down.

No problem. Check out Tim Wilborne's channel and Hegamurl for more clear explanations.

If I understood correctly in the ladder language, a load can be activated regardless of whether we have an open or closed circuit in the switch. There is no electrical continuity but logic. And my main question, does ladder language consider all switches as double throw?
@PeteVree7 ай бұрын
Yes, you are correct. Not the path of current, the path of logic. The Ladder language primarily looks for voltage or no voltage... so usually single pole, single throw input contacts.
