This is why I play the cello. You can’t get a sound like that from any other instrument in existence. The sound is the perfect pitch.
@isryn Жыл бұрын
i 100% agree with you about the cello being the perfect pitch.. i've been a violinist for many years now, but i've always adored the sound of the cello. 😢 one day i'll have enough to splurge on one
this is also weird, but growing up and seeing the studio ghibli movies made me feel less alone. I saw Haku as a brother, Nausicaa as a sister, and totoro as an old friend. Not literally of course, but I have such a connection to those characters. I feel like I know them as people. They're timeless masterpieces.

The physiology of emotion is closely linked to arousal of the nervous system with various states and strengths of arousal relating, apparently, to particular emotions. The original role of emotions was to motivate adaptive behaviors that in the past would have contributed to the survival of humans. Emotions are responses to significant internal and external events.

Its so nice to see all these wonderful comments about how nice the cello sounds! Usually, when a movie has music I really like, I download it and put it on my iTunes so I can listen to it all the time. But with Studio Ghibli movies, particularly Spirited Away, it always felt wrong, like listening to them outside of the context of the movie somehow reduced the sense of mystery and wonder I would get while watching the movie. Moreso than with other movies, this music seems inextricably tied to the visuals and storytelling. I can't listen to One Summer's Day without seeing a train serenely traveling over the water, leaving behind ripples in its wake. And I never want to listen to this music so much that it becomes mundane, so I've always avoided listening to it outside of when I watch the movies... but I will make an exception to my rule this time, to listen to these beautiful arrangements, even if just once!

Listening to this makes me want to play the cello right now. It's kind of funny but recently I got REALLY into cello and one day we watched a movie about Bach in school and the class finished while one of my favorite cello suites was playing. Everyone got up and left early it was only me still paying attention and then I got this idea. I walked into a music school just to get some information about cello lessons. I was just curious but I accidentally bumped into a cello teacher and he took me to a cello lesson. He told me if I have luck I can start in november. I feel like it's a sign and I really wish to get in. Please cheer for me~

The cello is a bass note instrument. The severe notes are felt by the spinal medulla and transmitted directly to the brain. That's why it has such a powerful sound. It is the first sound to arrive in the brain and we do not hear it with the ear, but with our bones. =)

That's fascinating! My sister is starting on the cello, and it was so different from when I started on the violin ten years before...when I started, my violin sounded like a screeching cat until I learned to control my bow, but the sound she was able to produce with her little cello was just this wave of loveliness, despite her never playing before...I was like what T^T Thank you for this wonderful little lesson about the cello! I love it even more now :3 In a way, both the musician and the listener are a part of the instrument itself.
