I'm grateful for videos like this that share the experience. Many of us will never be able to make it there. Also, I'm grateful it's in Japan because you could never build something like this here in America. Too many irresponsible hands coming and going. Disney and Universal are having a hard enough time with guest behavior. You've got a much more respectful audience over there.

Very impressive to see a park themed after the world-class animation studio! And may I say, the attention to detail is amazing! Princess Mononoke is my favorite of Miyazaki’s movies by a big long leap, but all the others are fantastic as well. As for the character you mention around 5:50, that’s Naussica from “Naussica of the Valley of the Wind”, the 1984 film which pilot-lit the creation of Ghibli Studio. FUN FACT: she was an inspiration for the Zelda we see in Breath of the Wild!

I just got tickets to go to Ghibli Park in November and am so excited to go. One thing that is confusing is that it appears the first entry to an area is at 12:00 p.m. even though the calendar says the park opens at 9:00 a.m. Why does the park open three hours before anyone can enter the Grand Warehouse etc.? Is it worth going early?
@didibryan Жыл бұрын
Super excited for you! The park is open to the public and has parts unrelated to Ghibli. You're free to explore that and it's a nice park, but if you're there just for the Ghibli attractions, then there isn't too much of a need to go early. I'm looking on the site and it looks like domestic tickets can go into the warehouse earlier ghibli-park.jp/en/ticket/ticket-nov.html but the international tickets only start at 12pm.

I think these parks, if they had the money and resources, would be much more amazing if they actually recreated the cities from the animated movies. A little like what you guys saw inside the dome, but outside, like a big theme park divided by each city/place of the movies with actual building modeled after those. Being that many buildings are never seen inside, most buildings could be the utility rooms (like restaurants, cafe, shops, entertainment, art exposition, museum, etc). The same applied to the walking roads, instead of just being plain cement, there are many movies where the streets are made of cobblestone, it would be great if they did that. It would so great to have the actual feeling of walking inside the scenarios. Also, there are so many ghibli movies in nature, it would actually be great if they made park areas with the same flora as the movies or the closest possible.

Up until now it's basically been a lottery system and any leftover tickets are first come first serve via their ticketing website or the Loppi machines in Lawson. Going forward, it will only be first come first serve and will probably need to book a couple months in advance as well.
