So helpful to have talent like that out of their shell with poses etc. You could just let that guy go for 30 minutes and get amazing shots. Great instruction and guidance.

That was one of the best videos I've watched from you. The delivery of your points related to lighting and how much of a difference between a strong image and an average image was conveyed so clearly. Loved it, even after watching it 3 times already, I got more from it each time. Your model was awesome as well, big Kudos to Jesus. 💯

Mega super!

Love the focus on fundamentals. I often forget to lower my light when my model changes positions like yours did moving to a squat position from standing. Great reminder. I didn’t see much change with the negative fill but will rewatch from something other than my phone. I’ve not heard of the tip you mentioned briefly - 32” octa should be ~32” from the model. Sounds like a cool tip for quick setup.

Curious as to why you chose a f stop of 5.6 ? I think a lot of the time photographers are drilled into thinking a higher f stop like 2.8 is always better.
@Han-pd8rw Жыл бұрын
Smaller aperture is usually better for studio portrait as we can have as much light as we want (using flash) and also makes the shot sharper. By using smaller aperture, you can get a deeper depth of field. Lenses also tend to be sharper around F4.0-5.6.

I think the negative fill didn't actually work. I can't see it and the physics, as I understand it, mean the far away (and black) walls are already negative fill.
@payamjirsa2 жыл бұрын
Negative fill is usually quite subtle, a bit hard to see in videos. Give it a shot on your own.
@zrowedaartistviews22782 жыл бұрын
Agree with this maybe use the black side closer

It's adding a sharper contrast to his outer edges. It's there, just subtle. Makes for a more dynamic shot in camera.
