Great video, thanks! Just one question: why did you slow down your shutter speed? I mean light coming from your strobes can be varied modifying your iso or aperture. Going to 1/150 to 1/100 doesn’t effect your light output but just the ambient light
@Phloshop4 жыл бұрын
Good question! So Ambient is basically any light that is available in your scene. Shutter speed technically controls ambient light but in practicality it also has a little effect on your flash (when your flash becomes available) and thats all i wanted. Just a little delay in my shutter to make the available light a bit brighter.
@p.burley45333 жыл бұрын
How does your ambient factor in: is it better to have light switches off, so that strobes (and constants) are the only source?
@Phloshop3 жыл бұрын
The house lights are so dim they do not really affect the shots for photos so leaving them on does nothing. For ambient light, yes I am referring a little to the video light and more to the natural light entering the room through the windows...

I have been following your work recently, so creative and inspiring . How did you use two different channels on the AD600 (Channel A) and the V860ii (Channel B) yet still have them synced while you shoot at the same time using the Xpro trigger?
@theJoeyDutch4 жыл бұрын
I can see colored curtains, are those not spilling over ur images? How do you deal with spills?
@Phloshop4 жыл бұрын
This I think might be the hardest thing to explain but I’ll try. The space I shoot in is all white, I mean white walls n roof. The only colours would be the green in the curtains and then the brown floor. There will be a little spill onto my images but I don’t worry too much about that because the dominant spills will come from the wall n roof n that’s enough for me not to worry about the tiny green in the curtains. I also try not to let technical things get to me too much. I hope this helps
@jasonbodden88164 жыл бұрын
If the room is 99% white. no, the color in the curtains will not register in the images at all.
@theJoeyDutch4 жыл бұрын

What are the benefits on to why u under expose your shots and correct it later?
@Phloshop4 жыл бұрын
When you underexpose ur images by 1 or 2 stops, you preserve details in the highlights. It’s easier to restore shadow details than highlights. So doing this gives u a lot of control over the exposure of your images..
@GranCraft1684 жыл бұрын
@@Phloshop got it thanks
@MarkusMischek4 жыл бұрын
Choosing a slower shutterspeed doesnt make your strobes stronger its just letting more ambient light influence the exposure. So you are mixing ambient light with strobes. In general you do this only outside in natural light. But if you do this in the studio the chance is high that the ambient light, which might be artificial light too, influence the colour temperature. So it wont be consistent. So instead of slowing down the shutter speed you should increase the ISO or change the aperture.
@hectorubas31883 жыл бұрын
Hi, I just tried my lights lately. I used a cam settings of 1/250 f/2.8 and 100ISO, I can't see the subject through my screen. Is there a setting in my camera where I can saw my subject even I have those settings? I'm a beginner in photography by the way. Thank you❤

Bro 5d mark iv and and EOS R and r6 which one is best for wedding photography and long term use
@Phloshop3 жыл бұрын
All of them are to be honest. The price is the main separation factor. mk iv and eosr are basically the same camera. r6 has less megapixels and isn't as weather sealed as the 5d mk iv. Long term use, will depend on how you handle your equipment lol

+Mario Vaden I literally just sold me EOS R. To get a 5D mk iv. I used it for a comparison video which I filmed last week and I fell in love with the whole DSLR feel. So I’m back to DSLR but hopefully switch to R6 when it becomes a little more easy to access. I’ve never shot with the 5Ds though Try a 24-70 you’ll love it’s versatility
@TallTreesClub4 жыл бұрын
@@Phloshop May be a question mark how you would feel about a 5ds. It's like a double-processing 5D mk iii. For studio you may find it interesting. Apparently B&H photo has an "insane" sale on 5DS this week for $1299 new and the 5DS R for $1499 and supposedly USA versions. 5DS is the one for studio and fabrics. Peter Hurley (KZbin) chose the 5DS for celebrity studio portraits a few years ago. Cheers, MDV
