There have been quite a few negative comments saying this upgrade is underwhelming. I disagree. The workflow improvements are subtle and not big stand out features but they are very much welcome as they are overlooked but important to speeding up the basic tasks

Great video again...one TIP HRME...for users who are NEW. Keep all your songs saved in the Studio One folder.. You do not have to pick where to save it every single time leave that alone. It defaults to the Studio One folder...That part may confuse people HRME.... If you do that you will be looking all over the place for songs as time goes on.. TRUST ME I did that when I 1st got it years ago......Not a good idea..LOL

Tried logic pro x for a bit. I liked it but it's not S1. S1 is a beast!! Once they get Atmos or even just surround sound mixing, it will easily be the best DAW, even though it might be now.

Thanks Dave! I love Studio One and v6 seems great so far. Are you familiar with Cakewalk tracking templates? Wondering if the new track presets can be used in that way. I love that feature in Cakewalk. I use it for Superior Drummer, Addictive Drums and Kontakt mainly. In Cakewalk it saves the bus routings and FX inserts as well.

@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I learned that the track presets feature does indeed save the routing and fx assignments and populates the send channels. That's a relief, but I'm still going to hold off on this upgrade. Seems more like an incremental upgrade to me.

I have a few of your courses. I am trying to figure out how to do something that should be relatively simple. I have a drum track that I'm using but I want to put a one or two measure audible click track in before the drum track starts so that we know exactly when to start playing and I can't quite figure out how to do that. Right now when I click play the drum tracks starts immediately with no audible count in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

in the recording settings you can turn on the "pre-roll", that will give you as many measures as you like before it starts recording

Hey Uncle Dave. i have Presonus sphere and have had it for two months ad i havent made ONE BEAT. im so used to Fl studio. that when i ask questions on how to make a beat on sphere,i cant get a direct answer. how do i make a beat. I sample from old records and go from there. HELP ME UNCLE! (i also have faderport16 and it wont connect to the software) it wont recognize the widows 10 i think or 11. i need specifics. i just want to drag an mp3 into the template,cut off what i dont want,and loop what i do. tnen add a drum simple.

worth it? That really depends on how "deep" you want to go into S1 features. For 95% of people using artist, version 5 is just fine.

I have never heard of that myself so I cant speak to this specific issue. I use ALL the major DAW's and I can comfortably say that S1 is the most stable I have ever used, assuming you have a properly spec computer.

This upgrade is nothing revolutionary. The output level for streaming platforms was already in Project Section where you master. Track presets you could already do by dragging the instrument into the files section in the right side browser, then recall them by pulling that file back into studio one to recreate everything. Less clutter on the gui options, ok , wouldn't need that if they designed a better GUI, Meh. Its a less click workflow upgrade which is good but not really worth the upgrade price their charging and surely nothing I couldn't live without. Bla Upgrade...

Not really bothered. They never fixed 5, causing me to roll back to 4, so why would I buy 6? I use all the same plugins in both Reason and S1 4, up to 50 of them at a time on average but on lighter vst's my PC will handle up to 70. they all run fine. S1 5 and I get dropouts and CPU spikes causing dropouts some times off just 3 VST plugins. My roll back was literally in the last month, when I got sick of it. So to me Presonus is not a company I trust anymore. With the likes of Reaper and Cakewalk out there at a grand total of £60 for two DAW's, you'd better damn well check your £300 DAW works properly. Personally I like the old Cubase SX style which is why I went with S1 but now feel ripped off.

I been with S1 since v3 and this is a disappointment in my opinion , I hope fender don't destroy what is left of Presonus . Competition is out in front of Presonus on some features at the present time . I Hope Presonus survive and start to bring it all the way not with a partial update .
