Mike, you are truly a gifted teacher. You explain these instruments so well and so much better than anyone else I've seen online. Thank you so much.

Thanks a ton for this Mike. A few months back someone graciously gifted me a sample kit from my favorite drummer. Each drum had 7+ different velocity settings, and I knew they were likely supposed to be on the same pads, but I couldn't figure out how. All I needed was someone to go, oh here's how easy that is, and you did just that, so thanks! + using those browse tabs makes it way easier too, I would have definitly been using the dinosaur method if I hadn't been clearly walked through the better way, like here.

i really appreciate your videos mike. somehow i have this sick fascination with pro tools but watching your videos has convinced me im an idiot. the more you peel the layers back and show how powerfull s1 really is the more im concerned how more people dont see its, and your genius

Great video, Mike. Super useful to me as I have been using Impact XT a lot recently after years of hardly touching it. I hope you will consider a vid using Impact XT with Atom.

Very helpful (subscribed)! Which screengrab software do you use? Are a lot of edits/postprocessing mandatory in order to produce this video?

is there a way to assign a single multi instrument sound to one pad?

I see how to shorten the sample, how do you make it longer? There’s a snare sample that I want to use but it cuts off quickly. How can I make it a little longer?

Hey Mike, I'm setting up a 26pc kit. All the drum samples are in stereo... do I have to settle for 10 mono channels? or can I somehow increase the 16 available to 26? So far, I've just decided to group some of the similar sounds through the same bus. giving up some individual control that I probably wouldnt need anyways.

Is it possible to use Impact with my MPC Live 2 as a controller to trigger pads?

Hey guys, do you know why IMPACT XT will not let me overdub? For example, if I record kick and snare in one go, it will allow it, but if I record a kick stop the session and then try to record snare record over the kick. And I don’t hear the kik at all. Can someone please help. I hope my explanation makes sense. Thank you.
