In fact, it's super easy, barely an inconvenience. I use it in conjunction with my SP404 mk2 and my MPC 2500 SE. In fact, your latest video about the bit crusher inspired me to do some bit crushing on it. It can sample at 22.100 KHz in long play mode, and it can bit crush. Never had any problems with its limited memory. Nor with 8 tracks only. Bought it for 425 euro in 2022 when the 404 was unavailable, never regretted that. Its only Achilles heel is the rotary encoder. I hope your girlfriend reacts more forgiving than my ex when I shifted her desk for more room.

The extra synth engines would be worth an addition to my studio. But a MC101 + my original Tracker would work cool as well for less dough.

I got rid of my macbook with my paid for plugins. I got the mpc one plus, tracker mini, & sp 404 mkii. It's been a massive change to doing music. I just wish there was a hardware vst host device that you could use to put plug-ins on from like waves or isotope.

@JBWozEre96 Isla S2400 is coming out with a DSP card extension that will host a few VSTs inside the box. It's basically a small SOC chip running Linux with it's own built in mixer for each S2400 channel. So you could run like an SSL gbus and reverbs or whatever on it (up to the max memory/CPU of the chip). I cant wait to get one...

Congratz on the Tracker, maybe you can weigh in and ask Polyend to bring USB-C audio in and midi host to the device (and the Mini). Currently it's not possible to sample through USB-C or connect a midi controller over USB to play in notes...

I have an OG tracker. some of the buttons stuck (the black ones). To fix this, take the button cap off and trim the flash off the button. I hope yours is OK! Three of mine stuck, drove me mad. I still don't love it.

Polyend tracker is the SP1200 of hardware trackers. The manual is really not needed at all to get started. Literally learned in it 2 days. Easily has the best song mode of any of the recent standalone devices.

I started with the polyend tracker then got my 404 mk2 and other gear, the tracker is so fun but I am saving for the tracker mini. I got to try the m8 and didn't like its OS but made me want a portable tracker

I was actually going to sell my sp404mk2 to get one of those. But I realized that the 404 is really good for live performances with Ableton. So I thought Id just stick with the 404. The tracker seemed easier to learn and a much cleaner and simple workflow. Plus it has synth engines and you can make some seriously bass heavy songs. You can make legit dnb on this. It's crazy.

They make a really good pair actually. Add FX to samples on the 404, sample them into the Tracker for sequencing (the sequencer on the Tracker eats the 404 sequencer for breakfast). Play final song on Tracker and run it through 404 for compression and/or performance FX

Klarna credit can be a trap if you miss your payments or so a Dutch news story told. Especially when you lose track of multiple Klarna credits. It's their way of making a profit.

It's bound to be faster due to a faster CPU. But my old Tracker works fine for me. Just drink more coffee 😂 and be patient. Wax in, wax out......

Hey I have a SP 404 MKII I love your videos and are super helpful but I want a second sampler that’s older that’s older and sounds more crushed or more lofi I really like the SP 202, Zoom sampletrak ST-224, and the MPC 1000 and 500. I would love some advice from anyone

I don't think the MPCs you've mentioned will cover what you are looking for. I'd love a 1000 but that seems like more of an all-round beat making machine and I don't know how crushed it sounds (I could be wrong) Something like a 202, 303, ST or maybe even a yamaha SU-10 seems like the sort of thing that would work for your needs. The Roland MS-1 is also pretty nice, I have some vids in my archive about that

They've sorted a lot of the bugs now. There are still bugs, but nothing that's a deal-breaker for me, and it's WAY more stable than it was a few years ago
