For me, this new Perceptor is a massive improvement over the Titans Return one since I'll be able to transform it without having to worry about Convex's teeny tiny head trying to fly across the room.

Perceptor just arrived today! He is awesome. Blaster came the other day and I am so happy I got these two, as I never got Blaster (in G1 form) and the Perceptor I have is like a classics version that turns into some kinda half-track. These two new tformers are wonderfully designed. Great review!

First thing I did when I got mine was to Kiki up those transformation joints in the thighs. They're nice and tight now and don't flop around. I might put some more Kiki in to tighten them up some more. They really should've had a locking point molded in. And yeah, the ratchet joint in the shoulder cannon was odd, especially since it's on a screw joint which can be tightened if if ever got floppy. Out of all the figures that could've used something similar somewhere, this one gets it and doesn't need it. I haven't had my TL Perceptor out in a while but I found this SS version to be a tad lackluster overall. It's fine and all but just like with Blurr and Kup, I find their TL versions to just be more fun as toys overall regardless of the Titanmaster gimmicks. SS Blurr doesn't have the shield. SS Perceptor doesn't have the detachable shoulder cannon. SS Kup has back kibble. TR/TL Perceptor also had more and better choices for weapon storage in alt modes despite the SS figure having WFC 5mm ports included. It also has the extra parts in the legs to help make the "tank" mode more toy accurate. Not to mention the chest pieces have more moving parts on the TR/TL figure. Is it me though or does this figure feel weird though? Like the type of plastic used compared to every other Transformers brand figure ever. It feels like it's made of the same plastic as some third party figures I have. Like the Fansproject Insecticons. I don't like it on a tactile level. The plastic used just feels off in a weird way. It's odd to talk about such things but I don't like touching SS Perceptor. It also affects the feel of the joints when you move them too, especially the knees. I don't like looking at it either as that plastic has an odd sheen too. It's not gloss or even matte. It's like a satin finish I think? Regardless, I don't like it. So visually and physically, I do not like this figure. I also think it's been done better overall with the last figure. Like SS Kup and Blurr though, it's a perfectly fine figure with little to no actual flaws. It's all just my latent and undiagnosed autism or subjective opinions.

My favourite SS86 Deluxe by far and I can't exactly say why aside from my other 86 Deluxes being Jazz and Blurr

Reminds me of SS86 Wreckgar. Accurate in both modes, but nothing else interesting due to its focus on accuracy

I wander why this even has a tank mode at all. Studio Series is made to be very screen accurate and Perceptor never had the tank mode in the cartoon. I understand it's something the toy could do but no other studio series figure has toy accurate details like that.

Well it wasn't in the show but the g1 toy had it, only they called it a mobile laboratory. Plus I doubt it harms the figure to have it

I don't like this Perceptor, it's so bland and I much prefer the Titans Return version even though it is less accurate
