Hi Agata, thank you so much for sharing a view of your studio, which is very inspiring :) I'm new to collage, and was wondering how to deal with the copyrights of the photos we want to use from magazines for instance. Thank you for your help
@agatarek_official4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question! I appreciate your patience since I mainly use Instagram and don’t visit the comments section on KZbin often. When using and modifying photos from recycled magazines for my collage artwork, it usually falls under fair use, especially if the work is transformative. I try to significantly alter the images or combine them uniquely. I also look for images under Creative Commons (CC) licenses, which allow modifications. Although, after reading a lot of articles, it seems there’s no guarantee-it’s uncertain and depends on individual cases and context, so we never really know what's good or bad. Please keep in mind I’m not a lawyer; I’m just sharing what I’ve read. Hope this helps! Best wishes, Agata

Przytulam mocno ♥

Thank you so much for your electrifying video of your creative space. I am very organized as well and cannot create in a disaster. Your work is breathtakingly original. I kept wanting to see more and more. My heart was beating faster the entire time I watched your video. I came across your video quite by chance. I’m just now beginning to immerse myself into art creations. I love specifically abstract acrylics and other mixed media collage. I’m 67 but I’m burning up inside wanting to create and express myself. Thank you again. I will keep an eye out for whatever you send out.

Hi there Agata, I'm Kristine, and I'm thrilled to have stumbled upon your video today!! I had to reach out when I heard that you moved from Tampa to Portland not too long ago. I made the same move from Hutchinson Island which is across from Tampa on the East coast of Florida in 2010. I was working as an Interior Designer in Vero Beach, and was just sick to death of doing traditional beach homes for snowbirds to retire in and I don't think I could have found anywhere in the US that was more of a change than PDX, haha!!! Honestly, being a rather quirky, introverted artist weirdo, it's not always that easy for me to make friends, and I miss the camaraderie I had with the other artists in college. So, when I'm working sometimes I turn on videos like this for background noise and occasionally I'll even see a technique that I'd like to try out (no plagiarism though, I assure you) but I thought I'd take a little break and reach out to you. If you ever spend any time in Southeast Portland, I'm in the Lents/Foster-Powell area, maybe we could have coffee sometime if you're up for it? Sorry, I'm not sure about you, I'm wary of trying to meet people via the net (most seem to be men looking for a date) so, I do completely understand if I don't get a response from this comment, but I have signed up for your email list and I'll reach out either on your site or your IG. I really love your work, I think maybe the high fashion references were the thing that really inspired me to say hello, because lately I've been creating more "wearable art" than "wall art." Add to that a passion for photography and well, we have an inordinate amount in common, haha! Anyway, my pleasure to make your acquaintance, but it's time to get back to work! Be well, Kristine.

Hi Kristine, It's very nice to meet you. I apologize for the late reply. I mainly use Instagram, and KZbin is just an additional platform where I share content. What a nice story-thank you for sharing. Please contact me via Instagram and send me a direct message there to let me know it's you, so I can follow you back, and support you with your art. Hopefully, we'll get to connect more. Once again, thank you for your patience and have an amazing day.

First time I discovered Yarka I was purchasing supplies for my art classroom. The moment I opened them I was transported back in time to when I was a little kid back in Romania painting my little watercolors. They have a specific scent that stayed in my memory for decades. Where did you find that new set? I need to get me a professional set since I only have the ones we use in my class.

Hi Agata, i have just found your work. So interesting, and unique. Love it. Also enjoyed your studio tour. Love your passion and excitement. I am an artist. Love mixed media, collage, gel printing and so much more. Can't stick to just one thing 😁🙄 My father came to Australia from Poland when he and his family were liberated from a concentration camp during the second world war. Their farm had been taken, so they had to move somewhere. I would like to visit Poland one day. Wishing you well x Jayna Podgorski ♥️🇦🇺🦘

I'm a new collage artist. I love your work so much!! I have a question, how can you protect your collage work from dust? I'm struggling with this because I have a limited space and I don't know how to protect my work from collecting dust.. it's a silly question, but I thought I would ask it anyways... have a lovely day!
@agatarek_official Жыл бұрын
Hi Anna, I am very happy you are trying the collage! It's a very good question. I store my art in drawers and that works fine, but you can also purchase foil sleeves in the size you prefer to protect your art against dust. I have no particular brand, but usually, it's sold in bulk. I hope this helped. with love, Agata

I love your work but I have a serious question. If you are using magazine and book photographs for your beautiful work how do you get over the problem of copyright?
@kokoslores96664 ай бұрын
This question was asked before - she doesn't answer it. To my knowing you have to alter images from others to the point where you can't recognize them any more. Otherwise you have to ask the owner or you have to pay. Thats the reason why I am using my own photographs. But I think Agata works for different magazines or commercial companies? I'm not sure.

@@kokoslores9666 thank you for your reply, I think I will also stick to my own photos too. Better safe than sorry.

Thank you for your kind words, Nicola! Regarding your question about using magazine and book photographs in my work, it's important to be mindful of copyright laws. Generally, I ensure to transform the images significantly, altering their context and meaning, which can help fall under fair use. You can also search for CC images (Creative Commons/ free to use). It's a complex area, more by feeling than accurate rule which is always a struggle… Ps: My apologies for the late response. I am not often on KZbin as I create occasionally, and my main social media platform is Instagram, where I am active every day, and read DM more often 🙌🏼
