The twisty thing with numbers is called a row counter, the ruler with the holes is to check gauge and the giant safety pin lookin thing is to hold open stitches when doing tunisian crochet! Trust me, when I started crocheting I didn't know what those were either!

As someone who crochets and is self taught, I LOVE this idea, and video! I’ve been crocheting since I was 11, and I love doing it but I also have A.D.D so I can’t stick to doing one project at a time unless it’s a beanie, that’s the only thing I can actually do and not get tired of. If you want good quality crochet hooks, get Clover hooks. They honestly changed my whole technique, and they are a reasonable price in comparison to other higher end crochet hook brands.

The “ruler thing” is probably to measure the yarn. And you put the yarn through the holes just to see if it fits.

@@anisahherbert6605 sorry, I hit send too fast and got distracted, the holes are to measure crochet hook and knitting needle sizes and then the rulers are CM and Inch to measure the size of your project and to test gauge, like stitches per inch

You can use it to test yarn thickness by wrapping yarn around it and counting how many Wraps Per Inch, often seen on patterns etc as WPI
