Studio Vlog 05: Packaging Labels with Phomemo

Phomemo kindly sent me a label printer to test out. So here is my first impressions of it.

So I went for their M110 model because I was looking for the smallest labels to print. This printer was so easy to setup. The connection to my phone was perfect each time I used it (unlike my Dymo). I appreciate that I didn't have to use it plugged into a power source. It's completely wireless. The app is clean and has a lot of features I look for, such as alignment and printing images and other elements. But they do lack in font availability. What I also would have liked to see was an even smaller label sheet as I did end up having to cut them down further to get the look I wanted when I used it after this video. But I do honestly enjoy using it mainly because switching label papers on my Dymo is such a hassle and I end up loosing lots of labels as they get jammed so easily so having a second printer for smaller labels has really made my workflow faster. Please note that I am reviewing this as a business printer and not for journaling. I have only used this printer for a short time but I would be happy to answer any of your questions.

How do you create your font on your desk top and print it so clear as an image? I got the M110 then returned it due to only 2 fonts. Well in my case only 1 would load, but I actually love what it does. So I ordered the M20s and umm it's not as great. It wastes more paper and label options is not as smooth.

You create it on any editing app. I think I used illustrator to avoid high pixelation and then export it as a PNG or JPG. Then I just import it as an image on the app. But I think you can do so with your phone as well if you have a text app. Label options are not that much but like with my Dymo, I always like to design the label out of the software if it's for packaging. but for addresses, I just use any option from the app.

Thank you! I shoot on a Sony A7rIII . But to be honest its mainly great for photos but the video quality you can find on other Sony models as well that aren't so bulky/heavy. So for video I do recommend another Sony full frame camera 😊Because this one is heavy especially when you attach the lens 😂

Oh I hope it arrives soon! But let me know if you have trouble receiving it ❤️Honestly I have both and its like they both have their pros and cons. With the Dymo its mainly the connection issues. I used to use it on my phone but since the last update it refuses to connect on my phone so I have to use it on my laptop now. And with that sometime it wont connect and I have to like reinstall it which is very inconvenient.I think its because its a wireless connection and not bluetooth. But the Dymo app is better because it has tons of fonts and styling (like bold, italics is better than on Phomemo) The Dymo label is larger though so its good for addressing and bigger labels, it does have a smaller label but switching the labels each time can be a hassle if you need to use it a lot. And often it gets jammed and I waste so many labels. So I guess they're both different and not perfect. but it honestly will depend on what you need it for. There was a Brother one that I had my eye on for sometime and from reading reviews they say Brother is better than Dymo but I haven't tested it out. 🙈

I mean it was working fine until now so not sure what the issue it. But generally Brother is a wonderful brand for tech products but I really was sucked into the wireless connection of the Dymo.
